2D-Gabor transforms are considered as an effective spatial-frequency analysis technique in diverse area of image processing, especially in texture feature detection field due to it owns good localization ability in both spatial and frequency domain and also has excellent directional selectivity. In this paper, a method of feature extraction of palm print using real-Gabor transform (RGT) is proposed, which converts the spatial domain information of palm print to joint spatial-frequency domain. In critical sampling case, by calculating the compactly distributed coefficients of RGT, the sub-block energy distribution of palm print in spatial-frequency domain are extracted as recognition features. Experimental results show that this kind of feature has satisfactory discrimination. The proposed feature extraction method has low computational complexity and is highly suitable for palm print recognition due to the time-saving operation. It can achieve high verification accuracy and has favorable robustness against small-scale changes and angle rotation when using different sampling intervals.

The high stability is required in the process of target detection system. A video monitoring system based on JPEG2000 for target detection is developed in the paper. Firstly, the image-based video compression method and streaming-based video compression method have been compared. And then a comparison of still image compression algorithm based on JPEG2000 standard and traditional JPEG standard has been made. The experimental results show that the video monitoring system based on still image compression has higher stability and low error influence than based on video streaming compression. And JPEG2000-based compression algorithm has better performance than traditional JPEG-based compression algorithm in the condition of low bit rates.

A driving circuit in transient electromagnetic instrument is designed based on CPLD. In the circuit, the transmitting waveforms are generated by CPLD and the synchronization is implemented by wired. In addition, the gate driver IR2110 for the power switch devices is employed to control the high-power MOSFET for driving the H-bridge. Compared with the reference circuit, the generated waveform of the proposed circuit has short turn-off time and high current. The testing results show that the proposed circuit has a better performance on driving the coils. The transmission delay is reduced and the measuring accuracy is further improved to deepen the detecting depth.

A design scheme for shortwave broadband OFDM system based on Raptor code is proposed. Raptor code is utilized to improve the channel capacity and erasure performance, as well as increasing the bit-rate. In addition, OFDM is applied to increase the spectrum efficiency of the shortwave broadband communication system. The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed system has the better performance on error resilience and the transmitted bit-rate.

This paper presents a wide dynamic range data acquisition system applying in an instrument for subsurface imaging by using transient electromagnetic pulse. The objective of this system is to solve the problem of the signal dynamic range in the instrument. The basic unit in this system consists of a complex programmable logic device (CPLD) which controls the timing and waveform of the transmitted pulse, a gain programmable amplifier which is appropriate to improve the data collection accuracy and enlarge the dynamic range of the signal, and the signal interaction between the transmitter and receiver which ensures the capability of real-time. This system has good performance of real time and scalable to satisfy the dynamic range requirements.
