O acido 6a,7b-di-hidroxivouacapan-17b-oico (ADV, 1), furanoditerpeno isolado dos frutos de Pterodon polygalaeflorus Benth, apresenta atividade analgesica em modelos laboratoriais utilizando roedores. Visando reunir dados para estudar a acao biologica de vouacapanoides, foram obtidas seis novas amidas derivadas (4-9), contendo grupos alquilaminas no anel furânico, preparadas pela reacao de Mannich com sais de iminios pre-formados. Esses derivados tiveram suas estruturas determinadas pela analise de dados espectroscopicos no IV, RMN de 1H e de 13C e foram submetidos a triagem farmacologica in vitro, destinada a detectar substâncias com acao depressora sobre celulas neuronais.

Abstract 2-Hydroxyxanthone, 1,7-dihydroxyxanthone, 1-hydroxy-7-methoxyxanthone, 2-hydroxy-1-methoxyxanthone, 1,2-methylenedioxyxanthone and 2,8-dihydroxy-1-methoxyxanthone were isolated from the wood of Kielmeyera excelsa Camb.

The title compound, 1,5,5a,6,7,7a,8,9,10,11,11a,11b-dodecahydro-6,7-dihydroxy-8,8,11a- trimethylphenanthro[3,2-b]furan-5-carboxylic acid, C20H28O5, presents both anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities. Two of the six-membered rings adopt chair conformations, whereas the ring fused to furan is in a half-chair conformation. Crystal packing is established by three intermolecular hydrogen bonds.

Abstract Wood of Bauhinia splendens , an Amazonian creeper, contains bausplendin, 7-methoxy-5,6,3′,4′-dimethylenedioxyflavone, as shown by spectral analysis and synthesis of the isomeric 5-methoxy-7,8,3′,4′-dimethylenedioxyflavone.

Seven new amide (III-IX) derivatives of 6α,7β-di-hydroxyvouacapan-17β-oic acid I (ADV) have been synthesized. Their structures were established by spectroscopic data, including 2D-NMR methods.

The crystal and molecular structures of the title compound (CHAD, C 26 H 39 NO 4 ), which is a synthetic derivative of 6α,7β-dihydroxyvouacapan-17β-oic acid (ADV) isolated from Pterodon polygalaeflorus Benth, have been determined. P. polygalaeflorus Benth is a traditional plant of Brazilian medicinal culture.
