This study aims to examine the computer use attitudes, knowledge-skills, habits and methods of preschool teachers with respect to several variables. Participants were 127 teachers who were working at 24 state and private schools in 8 different districts of Istanbul in 2009. The measurement tool used in the study was developed from an instrument by Qui Chen and Chang (2003). When teachers’ computer use attitudes, knowledge-skills, habits and methods were studied with respect to their institution, a significant difference was found in the knowledge-skills and habits subdimensions. When they were studied in relation to teachers’ years in the profession, a significant difference was found in the attitude subdimension; and when they were studied in relation to providing half or full day instruction, a significant difference was found in the habit and method subdimensions. This study evaluated from a developmental point of view the basic concept knowledge and human figure drawings of children who did and did not attend preschool. A total of 118 children who received preschool education and 147 children who did not do so participated in the study. The mean age of children was 75.4 months. Their concept knowledge was evaluated by using the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts (Boehm-3) and their human figure drawings were evaluated by using Koppitzs developmental scoring criteria. Consequently, a meaningful difference was found between the basic concept knowledge of children who attended preschool (p<.05) and those who did not, however no such difference was found in their human figure drawings (p>.05). In addition to these, the study also examined the correlation between childrens basic concept scores and their developmental human figure drawing scores (children who went preschoolers r= 0.156, p>.05, children who did not attend preschoolers r= 0.40, p>.05).

This study aims to examine the knowledge of basic concepts of children starting primary education. The sampling for the study is constituted by total 183 children, 89 girls and 94 boys. The knowledge about the concepts of the children making up the sampling was evaluated using Boehm’s Test of Basic Concepts (Boehm‐3). Moreover, the Family Information Forms, prepared by the researcher, were used for the demographic information regarding the children. No difference was determined in the knowledge of concepts of the children according to gender. When the levels of benefiting from the preschool education were evaluated, it was observed that the concept points of the children increased as the period for benefiting from the preschool education got longer and the difference between the groups was found to be significant. A significant correlation was found between the educational levels of both mothers and fathers and the concept points of the children and it was found that the concept points of the children increased as the educational level of the parents got higher. Moreover, the difference between the concept points of the children according to the socioeconomic levels of the families was found to be significant.

Bu arastirmanin amaci okul oncesi ogretmenlerinin sinif ici etkinliklerde cocuklarla olan iletisimlerinde kullandiklari evrensel degerlerin gozlem yoluyla incelenmesidir. Arastirmanin calisma grubunu Tekirdag’in Hayrabolu ilcesi ve Bingol il merkezinde bulunan 2 ilkogretim ve 1 bagimsiz anaokulunda gorev yapan 4 okul oncesi ogretmeni olusturmaktadir. Veri toplama araci olarak, okul oncesi ogretmenlerinin sinifta kullandiklari evrensel degerler “Yapilandirilmamis ve Katilimci Olmayan Gozlem Teknigi” ile gozlenmistir. Arastirmanin amaci dogrultusunda arastirmaya katilan ogretmenlerin sozel ifadeleri ses kayit cihazi yardimiyla, davranislari ise betimleyici notlar halinde kayit altina alinmistir. Arastirmada elde edilen verilerin analizinde nitel arastirma yontemlerinden Icerik Analizi kullanilmistir. Kayitlar dinlendiginde elde edilen rapor 78 sayfadan olusmustur. Arastirmanin bulgularina gore ogretmenlerin sinif ici etkinliklerde cocuklarla olan iletisimlerinde 12 farkli degeri kullandiklari gorulmustur. Bu degerler icinde en cok kullandiklari evrensel degerlerin ise “Nezaket, Yardimlasma, Sorumluluk, Saygi ve Sabir” oldugu gorulmustur.
