This article shows the experiences carried out in the context of human/robot communication, on the basis of brain bio-electrical signals, with the application of the available technologies and interfaces which have facilitated the reading of the user’s brain bio-electrical signals and their association to explicit commands that have allowed the control of biped and mobile robots through the adaptation of communication devices. Our work presents an engineering solution, with the application of technological bases, the development of a high- and low-level communication framework, the description of experiments and the discussion of the results achieved in field tests.

This article shows the experiences carried out in the context of Human Brain-Robot Control between Remote Places communication, on the basis of brain bio-electrical signals, with the application of the Brain-Machine Interface from Emotiv. There are available technologies and interfaces which have facilitated the reading of the bio-electrical signal from the user’s brain and their association to explicit commands that have allow controlling mobile robots (NXT-Lego) by adapting communication devices. Our work presents an engineering solution, with the application of technological basis, the development of the local communication framework and remote control. Lastly, metrics and indicators from the realized tests are proposed.

This article shows the advances on previous outcomes with a quadcopter in the context of Situated Robotics. Thus, external vision is used to capture the performance environment made up by four checkpoints over which the drone must autonomously fly. The implementation is discussed and the outcomes of the trials performed with the drone guided through two testing models—one external vision-centered and the other one hybrid—are shown.
