Abstract Clustering ensemble performance is affected by two main factors: diversity and quality. Selection of a subset of available ensemble members based on diversity and quality often leads to a more accurate ensemble solution. However, there is not a certain relationship between diversity and quality in selection of subset of ensemble members. This paper proposes the Hierarchical Cluster Ensemble Selection (HCES) method and diversity measure to explore how diversity and quality affect final results. The HCES uses single-link, average-link, and complete link agglomerative clustering methods for the selection of ensemble members hierarchically. A pair-wise diversity measure from the recent literature and the proposed diversity measure are applied to these agglomerative clustering algorithms. Using the proposed diversity measure in HCES leads to more diverse ensemble members than that of pairwise diversity measure. Cluster-based Similarity Partition Algorithm (CSPA) and Hypergraph-Partitioning Algorithm (HGPA) were employed in HCES method for obtaining the full ensemble and cluster ensemble selection solution. To evaluate the performance of the HCES method, several experiments were conducted on several real data sets and the obtained results were compared to those of full ensembles. The results showed that the HCES method led to a more significant performance improvement compared with full ensembles.

The environmental effects of Information Technology (IT) and business sustainability have been a catalyst for the growth of Green IT. This growth has resulted in a considerable amount of attention from business practitioners, Information System (IS) researchers and politicians in the field. Many researchers from different academic backgrounds have attempted to investigate and understand the concepts of Green IT, from both the individual and the organizational perspectives. However, few attempts have been made to incorporate the findings of previous surveys and to assess the current state of research in this field. In this research, we conduct a literature review to examine Green IT research to gain a better understanding of the Green IT field between 2007 and 2016. We categorize the published papers and present some novel research opportunities and areas that need to be developed. To provide extensive quantitative and qualitative results, we follow a review protocol integrating two different stages (automatic and manual) and cover all of the studies from this period. Accordingly, from the review study, we identify 131 papers addressing Green IT that were reviewed to extract relevant information on a set of research questions. We observe that the current studies cover numerous research themes under Green IT research, particularly initiation, approaches and strategies, the adoption framework, and benefits, with other themes gaining scarce attention. By presenting research questions, we aid scholars in determining rigorous academic research directions for studying this phenomenon. The results of this study provide a roadmap to guide future studies on Green IT and highlight directions for the successful implementation of Green IT in organizations.

Trust and reputation systems enable customers to reliably assess the quality of services and reliability of entities. The aim of reputation system is to let parties rate each other and to help in deciding whether or not to transact with a given party in online environment. In current reputation systems, users have to trust unreliable information sources and anonymous people. There is a need to improve current reputation systems by allowing users to make decision in buying online based on reliable information sources. Therefore this paper proposes a trust flow through sharing of knowledge and experience in reputation systems by utilizing social networks. This can assist users to access trustworthy information sources by knowing the experience and feedback of their friends in the social networks. This approach will improve the motivation of users for buying online and make the experience more enjoyable.

Non-technological problem has been identified as main barriers in knowledge management implementation. Culture and people have been identified as main barriers. Lack of understanding the benefit of using knowledge management system (KMS) makes people unaware about KMS. There are two types of knowledge workers which have different belief in KMS benefit. Benefit from the knowledge seekers perspective will be different with knowledge contributors. Current KMS acceptance model focus in evaluate and understand the user acceptance from knowledge seeker perspective. There is a lack of models that can be used to evaluate and understand user from both knowledge seeker and contributor perspective. Thus, this study proposes a modified model to understand both knowledge worker acceptances of KMS.

Group Decision Support System (GDSS) is suitable if used in decision-related meeting as a medium for them to share ideas, extract and analyze the information, and making decision. However, making decision is more complex where multiple criteria, conflict, and judgment need to be considered, which referred to as Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). Therefore, a suitable technique is preferred to solve the multi-criteria problem in GDSS. Many authors have developed fuzzy AHP method in order to solve MCDM problem because of its ability to extend the strength of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with fuzzy set theory which able to consider vagueness and both quality and quantity factors. In spite of its strength and ability to solve MCDM problem, fuzzy AHP still contains mathematical calculations which is considered quite complicated for some people, and lack of voting opportunity for the decision makers. Thus, another method in MCDM is introduced here, which is the Social Choice (SC) method along with its ability to give opportunity of voting for the decision makers. In this study, the author will append the SC method in the last steps of fuzzy AHP decision making process in order to let the decision makers to directly involve in the most important part of decision making.

The limitation of current Web-based collaborative learning is the restricted ability of the students to create and contribute contents. The first generation of web (Web1.0) has made little improvement in collaborative learning (CL) and knowledge creation. More recently, a major change accrued in the way web technologies are being used in educational settings; there are new waves of applications that are transforming web technologies from Web 1.0(read) environment to Web 2.0(read/write) paradigm. This has great potential to improve CL. The main purpose of this study is to examine the suitability of Collaborative Learning (CL) activities in web 2.0 environment. A survey was conducted in order to investigate CL activities and Web 2.0 tools. Findings of the survey have led to proposing Web 2.0 CL model. The proposed model consists of three important components, namely users, resources and activities. Users can utilize these resources, and generate activities based on the resources.

With the rapid growth of E-Commerce recently, a review platform has been among the important tool in facilitating online decision making. Therefore, research scholars have put much effort in investigating various factors that may contribute to the enhancement of this tool. This study is interested in exploring the subjective characteristics of online reviews with the aim at improving the relevance filter of review content. This can be done through investigating the factors from information retrieval perspective which consider the relevance criteria for information searching in accepting text recommendation from consumer reviews. This study takes the opportunity since the problem that still rises in filtering the useful information features based on the judgment that, not every review exerts the same degree of applicability towards consumer needs. This work contributes to the literature by employing communication theory from ELM perspective to study the role of argument quality in understanding the behavior of information acceptance in E-Commerce consumer review platform. A research model is further proposed to visualize the research investigation.
