SummaryThe mass spectra of peptide alkaloids are discussed which contain a ring system formed by p-hydroxy styrylamine, anα-amino acid, and aβ-hydroxy-α-amino acid, and in addition, a side chain consisting of an N,N-dimethyl amino acid. The fragmentation induced by the electron impact is mostly independent of the nature of the amino acids, and therefore a general fragmentation scheme could be established. Die Elektronenstoß-induzierte Fragmentierung ist weitgehend unabhängig von der Art der Aminosäuren, so daß ein allgemeines Zerfallsschema aufgestellt werden konnte. Damit läßt sich für ein Alkaloid dieses Typs aufgrund seines Massenspektrums eine rasche und eindeutige Strukturbestimmung durchführen.

From Lecidea lilienstroemii D. R. and Lecidea leucophaea (Flk.) Nyl. has been isolated the new depside miriquidic acid, the structure of which is 4-[2-hydroxy-6-(3-oxo-n-pentyl) -p-anisoyl] -6-n- pentyl-β-resorcylic acid (1).
