Seven new species of Gonioctena Chevrolat are described from the Oriental region and Palaearctic China: Gonioctena (Asiphytodecta) mausonensis sp. nov., G. (A.) oudai sp. nov., G. (Brachyphytodecta) arunensis sp. nov., G. (B.) mauroi sp. nov., G. (B.) medvedevi sp. nov., G. (Gonioctena) fujiana sp. nov. and G. (G.) mongolica sp. nov. Gonioctena (Asiphytodecta) subgeminata tonkinensis (Chen, 1934) is removed from synonymy with G. (A.) subgeminata (Chen, 1934) and raised to the species level. Gonioctena (Gonioctena) suwai Takizawa, 1985 is synonymized with G. (G.) ogloblini Medvedev & Dubeshko, 1972. Gonioctena (Asiphytodecta) sapaensis nom. nov. is proposed as a replacement name for G. (A.) unicolor Medvedev, 1987 not Phytodecta quinquepunctata var. unicolor Weise, 1884. Lectotype is designated for Phytodecta subgeminatus var. tonkinensis Chen, 1934.

Two new species, Gonioctena (Brachyphytodecta) davidi sp. nov. and G. (B.) kangdingensis sp. nov., are described from Sichuan, China. Both are easily distinguished from other species by the presence of many micro-denticles on apicolateral surface of aedeagus, which is a unique character in the genus Gonioctena Chevrolat, 1836. A distribution map, photographs and diagnostic characters with illustrations of each species are included.

Larvae of Plagiosterna adamsii (Baly, 1864) and P. aenea (Linnaeus, 1758) are redescribed and illustrated in detail, with discussion of the previous misinterpretations. The first instar larva of Plagiosterna adamsii is described for the first time. The original name and citation of P. adamsii is confirmed. The genus Gastrolinoides Chûjô & Kimoto, 1960 is resurrected from synonymy with Plagiosterna Motschulsky, 1860. Plagiosterna formosana (Bates, 1866) is resurrected from synonymy with P. aenea. A key to the larvae of the Palaearctic Plagiosterna is provided. Tubercular pattern, pigmentation and sclerotized platelets of the integument are used as diagnostic characters for particular species.

Abstract The first and third instar larvae of Phratora koreana Takizawa, 1985 are described and illustrated in detail for the first time. Morphological changes in the pigmentation, tubercular pattern and defensive glands during the larval development are discussed. The life cycle and host-plant of Phratora koreana and a key to the larvae of the Palaearctic Phratora species are also provided.

Abstract The Gonioctena nivosa species-group of the genus Gonioctena Chevrolat, 1836 is defined and reviewed. It contains six species including two new to science: Gonioctena gracilicornis (Kraatz, 1879), Gonioctena nivosa (Suffrian, 1851), Gonioctena norvegica (Strand, 1936), Gonioctena springlovae (Bechyně, 1948), Gonioctena amurensis Cho & Borowiec, sp. n. and Gonioctena jani Cho & Borowiec, sp. n. Six new synonyms are proposed: Gonioctena nivosa (= Gonioctena arctica alberta Brown, 1952, syn. n., Phytodecta linnaeana bergrothi Jacobson, 1901, syn. n., Phytodecta linnaeanus var. mutatus Achard, 1924, syn. n., Phytodecta linnaeanus var. simplex Achard, 1924, syn. n. and Phytodecta nivosa var. cedehensis Ronchetti, 1922, syn. n.) and Gonioctena norvegica (= Gonioctena janovskii Medvedev, 1976, syn. n.). Phytodecta flavicornis var. limbatipennis Achard, 1924 and Phytodecta nivosa var. bicolor Heyden, 1883 are removed from synonymy with Gonioctena nivosa (Suffrian, 1851) and are synonymized with Gonioctena flavicornis (Suffrian, 1851). Distribution maps, a key to species, color variation, geographic variation of male genitalia and host plants are provided. Ovoviviparity is newly recorded in Gonioctena gracilicornis and Gonioctena nivosa. Lectotypes are designated for Gonioctena affinis, Gonioctena arctica, Gonioctena linnaeana bergrothi and Gonioctena nivosa.

Abstract. Gonioctena tredecimmaculata (Jacoby, 1888) is redescribed and two new species, G. ohmomoi sp. nov. and G. riyuetanensis sp. nov., are described from Taiwan. Gonioctena tredecimmaculata var. taiwanensis (Achard, 1924) is removed from synonymy with G. tredecimmaculata and raised to the species level. The larva of G. tredecimmaculata is described in detail and compared with that of G. taiwanensis.

Abstract Ambrostoma koreana sp. n. is described from South Korea. Detailed descriptions and illustrations of adult and all larval instars are provided and differences to closely related species are discussed. Ovoviviparity is reported for the first time in the genus Ambrostoma. Notes on distribution, host plant and biology are also provided.

Abstract. The hitherto monotypic subgenus Lasiocassis Gressitt, 1952 of the genus Cassida Linnaeus, 1758 is redefined and reviewed. Cassida vespertina Boheman, 1862 is redescribed and a new species, Cassida koreana, is described from South Korea. The subgenus is distributed in the eastern part of Palaearctic Region south to Taiwan.
