An Integrated Management System of Multipoint Space Weather Observation

An outline of a planned system for the global space-weather monitoring network of NICT (National Institute of Information and Communications Technology) is given. This system can manage data collection much more easily than our current system by installations of autonomous recovery, periodical state monitoring, and dynamic warning procedures. According to a provisional experiment using a network simulator, the new system will work under limited network conditions, e.g., a 160 msec delay, a 10 % packet loss rate, and a 500 Kbps bandwidth.

Development of the Edge Computing Platform Based on Functional Modulation Architecture

In this paper, we propose an edge computing platform that can coordinate with each computing resources of device, edge node and cloud for diversifying data can be modularized and actively deployed in cooperation within the wide area network. This platform brings transparent processing environment for IoT devices according to a data characteristic or use purpose. We have been developing the platform based on open-source software for container and its automating deployment, scaling, and management tool.

Improvement of the Integrity Verification Application Using Timestamp Mechanism for Distributed File System

A storage system constructed by a wide-area distributed file system of open source software has been requested to ensure the certain existence of the non-falsification data by a trusted third party. We developed an integrity verification application using timestamp mechanism for Gfarm which is a wide-area distributed file system of open source software made in Japan. However, the application remained low performance. This paper explains an improvement method of the application and reports its performance in a basic evaluation.
