In the last few years Digital controllers are widely used because of their excellent qualities of simplicity, effectiveness and they are applicable for broad class of systems. At present their involvement in industrial processes is more than 95%. They generally relate to accuracy, relative stability and speed of the response so as to yield an optimal control system for the given purpose. In this paper, the control of gimbal has been stated for the defence application mounted on the tank. A gimbal is a mechanical arrangement, which is used to isolate the payload from the moving vehicle. This is particularly used in line of stabilization systems and inertial guidance systems [1]. These systems require very fast and accurate control within a particular bandwidth. In the present problem, the digital controller is implemented using frequency domain approach in order to control the rate of motion of platform, meeting the stringent requirements of disturbance attenuation and robust stability.

The development of the computers has made human life more comfortable. Human -- computer Interaction (HCI) involves the study, planning, and design of the interaction between people (users) and computers. This research paper aims at the development of a portable and cost effective wireless eye movement-controlled HCI which can be used for the disabled who have motor paralysis and their hands cannot be used in multiple applications. A new mouse is proposed as an input device whose operation is based on measurement of rotations of the users head and detection of eye blinks. The software and hardware implementation of this HCI interface have been done using Linux platform and ATMEGA328 microcontroller respectively. The results show that the proposed system works efficiently and produces an error rate that allows it to be used as part of HCI. Thus, the system provides a flexible and cost effective method for the disabled to improve the quality of life.

The advent of new technologies like ZigBee, RFID, Android, Arduino has revolutionized the era of embedded system design. Nowadays, every user is surrounded by smart devices (robots) which make their life easier and comfortable. It has also been predicted by the researchers that by 2020, there will be billions of embedded devices talking to each other as compared to human beings termed as Internet of things (IoT). This paper is concerned with the development of autonomous mobile robot used for wireless control and navigation. This robot is equipped with ZigBee (for wireless data transfer), RFID reader (for reading the RFID tags to change the robot direction), and Arduino (for calculating the shortest path and providing commands to robot after reaching a RFID tag). This mobile robot has wide variety of applications in indoor navigation. The basic functionality of the proposed design is simulated on a chart paper designed by us, and the complete design is implemented around Arduino microcontroller with required necessary interfaces.

An embedded system is a combination of hardware and software program. Embedded systems have a very wide range varying from a simple 8051 microcontroller device to high-speed processor devices, which are even capable of running operating systems. Depending on the hardware design and architecture, an embedded system may run a simple C program or even an operating system. The trending IOT (Internet of Things) and automation applications require high-performance systems which can also support high definition graphics. An embedded OS is a running approach for embedded computer systems. These running methods are designed to be small, efficient optimized, and strict in using resources, simply known as RTOS. The machine running an embedded working system could be very constrained in resources akin to RAM and ROM, and for that reason programs made for embedded hardware are very distinct in their performance. Because of reminiscence obstacles, embedded working programs are commonly written in meeting language, however for some excessive-finish hardware, some of them are additionally written in additional transportable languages, like C.

A robot is an engine that is controlled and guided by CPU and electronic programming. With recent advances in mobile technology, mobile phones have shown incredible range of possible applications. Manipulation of latest robot which knows how to be proscribed using an android application should be in reach. Through this work, a robot is developed which is based on android phones that could be the basic prototype for the ground surveillance robot. Remote buttons are used in the application that is used to control the motion of the robot through the use of Bluetooth interface between app and Arduino. This robot is capable of continuously streaming photographs in the field area and uploading the picture on our cloud server in an encrypted form so as to make that it cannot be hacked or get into the wrong hands.
