Abstract Fluoride ion induced cross-coupling reaction of organic halides with trifluoromethyltrialkylsilanes takes place in the presence of Cu(I) salts under mild reaction conditions to give the corresponding trifluoromethylated products in high yields.

Abstract Double carbonylation of 1-perfluoroalkyl substituted 2-iodoalkanes are effectively catalyzed by palladium complexes in the presence of primary or secondary amines leading to the formation of the corresponding α-keto amides in good yields.

Abstract In the presence of molecular sieves under base free conditions organic halides are successfully carbonylated under carbon monoxide pressure with water or alcohols catalyzed by Co or Pd complex to generate the corresponding carboxylic acids or esters, respectively, in good yields.

Abstract Alkyl sulfonates (R 1 -OSO 2 R 2 ) react with carbon monoxide and alcohol (R 3 -OH) in the presence of catalytic amounts of Co complex and Nal to afford the corresponding esters (R 1 -COOR 3 ) in moderate to good yields.

Abstract The two-coordinate palladium complex, (Ph 3 P) 2 Pd, is successfully prepared by the reaction of {(η 3 -allyl)Pd(PPh 3 ) 2 } + PF 6 − with Ph 2 MeSiLi. The complex has been characterized by IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, 31 P NMR, and UV spectroscopy. Oxidative- and coordinative-addition reactions to the two-coordinate palladium(0) complex are also described.

Abstract Treatment of α-halogenated carbonyl or cyano compounds with hexamethyldisilane in the presence of catalytic amounts of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)-palladium gives the corresponding parent carbonyl or cyano compounds in excellent yields via oxy-π-allyl(trimethylsilyl)palladium intermediates.

Abstract A variety of β-hydroxyalkanoic acid derivatives were prepared by palladium catalyzed aerobic oxidative-carbonylations of terminal olefins at normal pressure of carbon monoxide and oxygen mixed gas.

Abstract O -Nucleophiles, RO − (R = H, Me, Et, i-Pr, and Ac), are introduced regioselectively into the terminal positions of β-myrcene and trans -ocimene in the presence of (CH 3 CN) 2 PdCl 2 in HMPA to form acyclic η 3 -allylpalladium complexes. The decomposition of hydroxymethyl-η 3 -allylpalladium complexes under basic conditions gives monoterpene alcohols and aldehydes.
