A NOVEL AND CONVENIENT METHOD FOR TRIFLUOROMETHYLATION OF ORGANIC HALIDES USING CF3SIR'3/KF/CU(I) SYSTEM

Hisao Urata; Takamasa Fuchikami

Abstract Fluoride ion induced cross-coupling reaction of organic halides with trifluoromethyltrialkylsilanes takes place in the presence of Cu(I) salts under mild reaction conditions to give the corresponding trifluoromethylated products in high yields.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1989

Palladium-catalyzed double carbonylation of alkyl iodides bearing perfluoroalkyl group

Hisao Urata; Yoshimitsu Ishii; Takamasa Fuchikami

Abstract Double carbonylation of 1-perfluoroalkyl substituted 2-iodoalkanes are effectively catalyzed by palladium complexes in the presence of primary or secondary amines leading to the formation of the corresponding α-keto amides in good yields.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1991

Transition metal complex catalyzed carbonylation of organic halides in the presence of molecular sieves instead of base

Hisao Urata; Nan-Xin Hu; Hisayuki Maekawa; Takamasa Fuchikami

Abstract In the presence of molecular sieves under base free conditions organic halides are successfully carbonylated under carbon monoxide pressure with water or alcohols catalyzed by Co or Pd complex to generate the corresponding carboxylic acids or esters, respectively, in good yields.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1991

CARBONYLATION OF ALKYL SULFONATES CATALYZED BY COBALT COMPLEXES

Hisao Urata; Daisuke Goto; Takamasa Fuchikami

Abstract Alkyl sulfonates (R 1 -OSO 2 R 2 ) react with carbon monoxide and alcohol (R 3 -OH) in the presence of catalytic amounts of Co complex and Nal to afford the corresponding esters (R 1 -COOR 3 ) in moderate to good yields.

Preparation and reactions of bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0)

Hisao Urata; Hiroharu Suzuki; Yoshihiko Moro-oka; Tsuneo Ikawa

Abstract The two-coordinate palladium complex, (Ph 3 P) 2 Pd, is successfully prepared by the reaction of {(η 3 -allyl)Pd(PPh 3 ) 2 } + PF 6 − with Ph 2 MeSiLi. The complex has been characterized by IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, 31 P NMR, and UV spectroscopy. Oxidative- and coordinative-addition reactions to the two-coordinate palladium(0) complex are also described.

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry | 1982

Reductive dehalogenation of α-halogenated carbonyl and cyano compounds with the hexamethyldisilane/tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium system

Hisao Urata; Hiroharu Suzuki; Yoshihiko Moro-oka; Tsuneo Ikawa

Abstract Treatment of α-halogenated carbonyl or cyano compounds with hexamethyldisilane in the presence of catalytic amounts of tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)-palladium gives the corresponding parent carbonyl or cyano compounds in excellent yields via oxy-π-allyl(trimethylsilyl)palladium intermediates.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1988

Aerobic oxidative-carbonylation of olefins. A convenient preparation of β-hydroxyalkanoic acid derivatives from olefins

Hisao Urata; Atsuko Fujita; Takamasa Fuchikami

Abstract A variety of β-hydroxyalkanoic acid derivatives were prepared by palladium catalyzed aerobic oxidative-carbonylations of terminal olefins at normal pressure of carbon monoxide and oxygen mixed gas.

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry | 1984

Regioselective introduction of O-nucleophiles into β-myrcene and trans-ocimene using palladium(II) complexes

Mitsuru Takahashi; Hisao Urata; Hiroharu Suzuki; Yoshihiko Moro-oka; Tsuneo Ikawa

Abstract O -Nucleophiles, RO − (R = H, Me, Et, i-Pr, and Ac), are introduced regioselectively into the terminal positions of β-myrcene and trans -ocimene in the presence of (CH 3 CN) 2 PdCl 2 in HMPA to form acyclic η 3 -allylpalladium complexes. The decomposition of hydroxymethyl-η 3 -allylpalladium complexes under basic conditions gives monoterpene alcohols and aldehydes.

Journal of Organic Chemistry | 1991

TRANSITION METAL COMPLEXES CATALYZED CARBONYLATION OR ORGANIC HALIDES IN N,N,N',N'-TETRAALKULUREA SOLUTION IN THE ABSENCE OF ADDED BASE

Hisao Urata; Hisayuki Maekawa; Shigeharu Takahashi; Takamasa Fuchikami

Chemistry Letters | 1987
