A survey was performed on 353 medical personnel at K university hospital, located in Daejeon metropolitan city. Frequency analysis, chi-square test, and independent t-test were used to analyze the data. The results showed that ‘to understand the value of the time and preparedness of a meaningful future’ were the most important perspectives on the contents of death education (p<0.05), ‘in order to change perceptions and attitudes toward death positively’ was the most important reason why they required death education’(p<0.05), ‘case-based teaching and problem-based learning’ was the most effective way of death education (p<0.05), ‘negative or hostile response of a patient’s guardian to medical personnel’ was the largest stress that medical personnel confront upon witnessing a death’(p<0.05). An understanding of the death of patients by medical personnel and an awareness of the need for death education will help improve the understanding of the patient, their guardian, and medical personnel themselves. Abstract This study was conducted to provide the basic data for the health management of the primary school, by finding and analyzing the factors affecting the degrees of atopic dermatitis symptoms severeness. The subjects of our study were collected 273 pupils mothers, whose children are undergoing through the atopic symptoms. The investigation process took the entire month of the November in 2006. The result of the older the pupils, the severer their symptoms(p<0.05). The longer the period(p<0.01), the more widely spread over the body, and the severer the symptoms(p<0.01). In the dietary habit, the more meat they eat, the severer the symptom(p<0.05). and in relation to the eating the food outside home, the more frequently they eat the fast-food, the severer the symptom. In the multiple logistic regression analysis, using the degrees of atopic dermatitis symptoms severeness as the dependent variables. it is discovered that the longer infection period they have and the more frequently they have the fast-food, the severer the symptom of the atopic dermatitis. The parents love for the child, the monthly cost for the management of the infection, and the parents feeling toward the child, can have a greate influence on the physical health, the feelings and the relation with the friends of the infected child, when the child shows the symptoms of scratching his skin. The conclusions of When all the results above are put together, the dietary habit of eating the meals mostly prepared with the meat should be corrected, and the education to form the pupils right dietary habit, such as, putting the limit on the fast-food, must be made, in order to prevent the symptom of the atopic dermatitis from getting worse. And by the recognizing the atopic dermatitis as the family health problem, the comprehensive family health management, including the mother should be made. Abstract The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of changing the order of exercise types on body composition and blood lipid in obese women. The subjects were 40-years obese women. They were trained during the 12 weeks by combined exercise program which included aerobic and resistant exercises. 1. In the cases of weight, A group(aerobics and resistance training)more decreased than B group(resistance training and aerobics). There was not statistically significant difference before and after 12-week combined exercise program between the groups. In the case of body fat mass, A group more decreased than B group. There was a statistically significant difference between the groups(p<0.01). Lean body mass, A group more increased than B group but there was a statistically significant difference between the groups. A and B groups were decreased in abdominal percent fat and there was a not statistically significant difference between the groups. 2. There were not any significant differences between two groups after 12-week combined exercise program at total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride, and high density lipo-protein(HDL) cholesterol. 3. In the case of blood glucose, group A showed more decreased than group B after 12-week combined exercise program. The difference before and after exercise program of A and B groups was statistically significant(p<0.01). In conclusion, the combined training which include resistant and aerobic exercise may use selectively to induce change of body composition and blood lipid for weight loss in 40-aged obese wome

This study was conducted to investigate the elementary school students` consciousness of safety, activities to prevent their accidents and factors causing such accidents. For this aim, a research was conducted from Nov. 19 through Dec. 22, 2007 by means of questionnaires distributed to 800 students enrolled in the 5th and 6th grades of 4 elementary schools in a urban-rural combined city. Out of the questionnaires distributed, 785 were collected and put to analysis by using SPSS 13.0 program to determine t-test, ANOVA, logistic regression, etc. 1. The maximum scores of safety consciousness revealing relatively high level of safety consciousness. There was, however, statistically significant difference by grade, type of residence, school life and academic achievements. In detail, 5th graders featured higher level of safety consciousness and those who live in apartments, lead a pleasant life at school and get better academic scores tended to keep higher level of safety consciousness. 2. The subjects of the high scored of activities to prevent accidents, with a statistically significant difference by gender, grade and individual personality. Females, 5th graders and active students were found to be more conscious of preventive activities for accidents. 3. In general, 6th graders and active students turned out to have experienced more accidents. 4. The main factors exerting influence on occurrence of accidents on the part of elementary school students are known to be preventive actions and consciousness of traffic safety in the category of safety consciousness. The significant variable in preventive actions was preventive actions of traffic accidents, burns and intoxication by category of accidents, but individual personality by category of general characters. Sixth graders and male students experienced more accidents, without significantly significant difference, though. As a result, From the above findings, prevention of safety accidents is found to be very important for elementary school students. It is therefore suggested that schools as well as homes should continue to conduct practical education to prevent accidents with priority placed on familiarizing students with preventive activities in daily life in consideration of their personal characters.

Abstract To evaluate clinical results of silicone oil injection for retinal detachment. The 45 eyes of 44 patients underwent vitrectomy and silicone oil injection from 1999 to 2002. 1.There were no history of previous retinal surgery and ocular trauma. In 24 of the 45 eyes(53%) visual acuity increased and stabilized in 18 of the 45 eyes(40%). 2. 1 of 16 eyes(6.3%) had recurred retinal detachment after silicone oil removal. 3. Final retinal reattachment was achieved in 44 eyes(97%). Postoperative complications were cataract(16 eyes), glaucoma(10 eyes), emulsification of silicone oil(5 eyes), keratopathy(2 eyes) and recurrent retinal detachment(1 eye). These results show that silicone oil injection for primary retinal detachment yields a high rate of anatomic success and the good visual outcome Key Words : Silicone Oil Injection, following Vitrectomy, Retinal Detachment Patients * 교신저자 : 이무식([email protected])접수일 2009년 7월 15일 수정일 (1차 09년 09월 10일, 2차 09년 11월 04일) 게재확정일 09년 12월 16일
