The purpose of this study was to collect the basic data on establishing the conservation plan for the domestic wetland through flora and life form analysis at Junam wetland. The vascular plants were recorded as 222 taxa; 58 families, 167 genera, 200 species, 3 subspecies, 1 forma and 18 varieties. Among 8 life forms, Therophytes (Th), Hemicryptophytes (H) and Hydrophytes (HH) showed high percentage, and these species comprised 71.1% of the whole flora at Junam wetland. One taxa (Euryale ferox) rare plants designated by Korea Forest Service were observed. The naturalized plants were 38 taxa including Fallopia dumetora, Oenothera odorata, Ambrosia artemisiifolia var. elatior and so forth, and naturalized ratio was 17.1%. The naturalized made up about 45 percent of the species composition. The specific plants by floristic region were 13 taxa including Euryale ferox., Hydrocharis dubia, Prunus davidiana and so forth.

ABSTRACT: This study was carried out to offer a basis data for application of effective management throughspecies composition and community structure of Castanopsis cuspidata var. thunbergii stands (Bijindo andYokjido). The upper, middle and lower layer in Bijindo and Yokjido consisted of 10, 11 and 27 species, and 9, 6 and 28 species, respectively. The importance value of Castanopsis cuspidata var. thunbergii werehighest in upper and middle layer both two studied site. The herbaceous species were 33 and 47 species inBijindo and Yokjido, respectively. The species diversity ranged from 0.523 to 1.280 in Bijindo and 0.699to 1.364 in Yokjido. Dominance in Bijindo and Yokjido were 0.477 and 0.242 at upper layer, 0.231 and0.102 at middle layer, and 0.106 and 0.057 at lower layer, which showed that Castanopsis cuspidata var. thunbergii stands are dominated by a large number of species at all layer. The distribution pattern byMorisita`s index showed that Castanopsis cuspidata var. thunbergii was distributed randomly in upper layerboth the studied sites.Key Words:
