Tetrahedron Letters | 1983

Thermal reactions of (2,4,6-tri-butylphenyl)phosphonous dichloride and its derivatives; formation of 2,3-dihydro-1h-phosphinodes

Masaaki Yoshifuji; Ichiro Shima; Kaori Ando; Naoki Inamoto

Abstract 2,3-Dihydro-1H-phosphindole derivatives were obtained from thermal reactions of (2,4,6-tri-tert-butylphenyl)phosphonous dichloride in refluxing toluene, probably through cyclization involving phosphorus radicals with an adjacent methyl of o-tert-butyl groups.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1981

Ab initio calculation of boat benzenes in bis(2,4,6-tri-t-butylphenyl) phosphinic chloride

Masaaki Yoshifuji; Ichiro Shima; Naoki Inamoto; T. Aoyama

Abstract ab initio Calculation of the benzene skeletons of the titled compound indicated that the molecule suffers 61.4 kcal/mol higher energy than that of flat benzene rings and that the boat benzene form is even more stable than the envelope or chair form benzene.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1984

Reaction of a diphosphene with various halogens

Masaaki Yoshifuji; Ichiro Shima; Katsuhiro Shibayama; Naoki Inamoto

Abstract Bis(2,4,6-tri- tert -butylphenyl) diphosphene reacts with various halogens to give the corresponding phosphoric dihalides, haloarene, and arene depending upon the halogen and solvent used.

Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and The Related Elements | 1983

Some reactions of diphosphenes and related species

Masaaki Yoshifuji; Katsuhiro Shibayama; Ichiro Shima; Naoki Inamoto

Abstract Some reactions of diphosphenes and the related species involving oxidation, reduction, alkylation, sulfurization, and 6η-coordination are described.

Journal of The Chemical Society, Chemical Communications | 1983

Oxidation of a diphosphene and dechlorination of an arylphosphonic dichloride: isolation of the diphosphene oxide

Masaaki Yoshifuji; Kaori Ando; Kozo Toyota; Ichiro Shima; Naoki Inamoto

The dechlorination reaction of the phosphonic dichloride ArP(O)Cl2(Ar = 2,4,6-Bu2tC6H2) with magnesium gave the sterically protected diphosphene oxide ArP(O)= PAr as a stable compound.

Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and The Related Elements | 1983

ESCA studies of a diphosphene

Masaaki Yoshifuji; Ichiro Shima; Naoki Inamoto; Masamichi Yamada; Haruo Kuroda

Abstract The nature of the P[dbnd]P bond in E-bis(2,4,6-tri-tert-butylphenyl)diphosphene was studied by means of ESCA, indicating that the phosphorus 2p binding energy is the lowest among those for common organophosphorus compounds.

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1982
