The Analysis and Countermeasures on Security Breach of Bitcoin

Il-Kwon Lim; Young-Hyuk Kim; Jae-Gwang Lee; Jae-Pil Lee; Hyun Namgung; Jae-Kwang Lee

Due to the strength of bitcoin including the convenient payment and transfer, exchange into legal tender, low transfer fee, and others, its usage is increasing dramatically. Bitcoin is an e-money and virtual currency currently used as a means of payment in about 20,000 online companies and 1,000 offline stores as of Feb. 2014. Different from previous e-money, there is no issuing institution and it has trait of no regulation by countries or companies. However, as there is an increase in value of bitcoin followed by Cyprus financial crisis in past March, issues regarding the security breach on the rise. Since the exchange between legal tender and virtual currency is free in case of bitcoin, direct damage caused by security breach is very large. Also, as there is no governing institution, the user is responsible for all loss in case of damage occurrence. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to look into transaction method and security breach trend of bitcoin and its countermeasures.

A study on algorithm to identify the abnormal status of a patient using acceleration algorithm

Yougn-Hyuk Kim; Il-Kwon Lim; Jae-Kwang Lee

The system discussed in this paper targets high-risk patients and the elderly living alone requiring ongoing status checking. For services that quickly identify abnormal symptoms that occurred to the subject and send them to medical staff, changes in the patient’s condition are detected by using acceleration (tangent) algorithm. We conducted a study sensing sudden changes based on the value of the location information and temperature/pulse/heartbeat/blood pressure values measured in personal health devices (PHDs), a biological information measuring device attached to the patient. PHDs based on ZigBee, and smartphone will replace the role of the sensor gateway. ZigBee sensor nodes were connected to PHDs, which measure the bio-signals of patients, to form a wireless network.

Study on Efficient Telemedicine System Design for Ambulance Emergency Situation

Young-Hyuk Kim; Il-Kwon Lim; Jae-Kwang Lee

Telemedicine system means a remote support system among 4 remote telemedicine services of u-Health. A currently available service in Korea is the one checking and maintaining patient’s status and supporting in emergency through video communication between an ambulance transferring patients and hospital under HSDPA and WiBro environment with coding of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. With that, this paper improves the stability of the current telemedicine system service of ambulance confirms the improvement compared to the old system by generating a system communicating by RTP/RTCP under coding process through H.264/AVC after converting RGB video to YUV in order to improve network efficiency.

Study on Medical Emergency Alert Algorithm Based on Acceleration Algorithm

Young-Hyuk Kim; Il-Kwon Lim; Jae-Gwang Lee; Jae-Pil Lee; Hyun Namgung; Jae-Kwang Lee

The system aimed at in this study is for high risk group of patients who require continuous medical checkups. For swift alert and informing to medical staff when a patient incurs abnormal medical condition, the system proposed in this study uses acceleration (tangent) algorithm the check any change in patient conditions. The researchers worked to identify any abrupt change by employing a computing formula based on body temperature/pulse/heartbeat/blood pressure measured by PHD, a biometrics measuring device attached to a patients body.

Design and Evaluation of Safe Seamless Service Model between Multiple Wireless Network Sections of u-Wellness Environment

Young-Hyuk Kim; Il-Kwon Lim; Jae-Gwang Lee; Jae-Pil Lee; Jae-Kwang Lee

The u-Wellness service is the field that falls under the health management aspect not containing treatment / decision-making of patients among u-Health fields. This thesis designed and evaluated the model of MBB(Make Before Break) way for seamless safe connection in a section where a user moves freely in remotely transmitting blood pressure / pulse / momentum information of a user holding a smart mobile device to a medical institution and health care institution. There are no services associated with the lives of patients but SSL application was a prerequisite in accordance with the obligation to provide and connect safe services pursuant to Personal Information Protection Law.

Jae-Gwang Lee; Jae-Pil Lee; Il-Kwon Lim; Young-Huyk Kim; Hyun-Namgung; Jae-Kwang Lee

In this study, a monitoring system was implemented to prevent solitary death of seniors who live alone. When monitoring activities of seniors who live alone, in order to protect their privacy, color (RGB) camera and depth (3D) sensor of Kinect are used to extract the skeleton and collect data. The collected data use WCF(Windows Communication Foundation) to record the images on a regular basis and send the images to DB with a designated interval. Sencha touch was used for monitoring the images saved in DB in mobile and PC.

Performance Evaluation of WDS-Based Mobile ITS Video Control System for Smart APT Traffic Control

Young-Hyuk Kim; Il-Kwon Lim; Jae-Gwang Lee; Jae-Pil Lee; Hyun Namgung; Jae-Kwang Lee

This paper is to represent web-accessible and network-compatible Mobile ITS Video Control System for Smart APT Traffic Control for where Wi-Fi is avaliable. WLAN for IEEE 802.11a has adopted 5GHz frequency in light of the fact that consumer mobile devices work on 2GHz. For test purpose IEEE 802.11p, being a PHY/MAC standard for WAVE, a V2V/V21 Next-gen Network, replaced IEEE 802.11a. Plus, the test practically established WDS in an apartment complex in Daejeon City in confirmation of compatibility of Mobile ITS Video Control System while handling Wi-Fi handover issues.

Implementation of u-RPMS Using Google Chart in Hybrid Application for Visualization of Patient's Biometric Information

Jae-Gwang Lee; Young-Hyuk Kim; Il-Kwon Lim; Jae-Pil Lee; Hyun Namgung; Jae-Kwang Lee

u-RPMS (USN Remote Patient Monitoring System) is a system that receives and monitors biometric information of patients collected real-time. Monitoring is available in various smart mobile devices using hybrid App and monitoring can be conducted by anyone, anytime, and anywhere once u-RPMS is designed through visualization using a representative open source API (Application Program Interface) that is Google Chart API. Therefore, u-RPMS using Google Chart in hybrid App for the visualization of patients biometric information will be implemented in this study.

Comparison & Analysis of HIGHT and SEED for the Protection of Biometric Information at U-Wellness Healthcare System

Jae-Pil Lee; Young-Hyuk Kim; Il-Kwon Lim; Jae-Gwang Lee; Hyun Namgung; Jae-Kwang Lee

This paper is for patients with chronic conditions who use a patient monitoring service with a smart mobile at the U-WHS(Ubiquitous-Wellness Healthcare System). This system is for collecting and transmitting of biometric information in a wireless environment. Also, in order to protect biometric information at the U-WHS in a safe manner, a model applied with SEED algorithm including HIGHT, which has been designed based on previous studies [3] applying of the existing HIGHT algorithm, has been compared and analyzed.

VPN Certification Structure Design through Specific Biometric Data in Remote Health Monitoring System

Il-Kwon Lim; Young-Hyuk Kim; Jae-Gwang Lee; Jae-Pil Lee; Jae-Kwang Lee

We design VPN environments so that we could be supplied the safe service when we establish remote health monitoring system through wire-wireless networks. At this moment, we use SSL and VPN in order that we could use various devices that are currently increasing very rapidly and at the same time, we also design the safe VPN with VPN authorized key values of physical informations which are acquired from remote health monitoring system. For the remote health monitoring system, we design MMI which applies the standard of HL7 and we design the VPN authorization structures by using specific physical informations from remote health monitoring system.
