Importance of collecting and analyzing data on traffic flow load in urban environments

The paper presents an overview of the needs for high-quality traffic planning of intersections in peripheral areas of major urban centres. The sudden development of the mentioned areas results in their assimilation by the major urban area, thus merging the existing traffic network. This usually causes significant increase in the traffic load with unchanged traffic and technical conditions of the traffic network itself.

Steganographic Integration of the Data Collected on the Traffic Road

The surveillance system video structure represents a suitable medium for steganographic integration of the collected data about the condition of the road and its environment. The surveillance video retains the function of visual presentation of the condition on the road, and the integrated textual data are a component of the video recording structure. The analysis of the steganographically processed video frames indicates the impact on the integrated textual data, the video quality and the impact of manipulation of data on the integrated data. The work uses steganographic algorithm F5 for integration various amounts of compressed textual files into image recordings recorded under various conditions. In order to prove that integrated and extracted data have identical content, cryptographic and polynomial functions have been used. For the calculations of statistical properties of the values of red, green, blue and intensity component the model was used formed in the MATLAB / Simulink applications.

Multi-criteria Decision-making in Cloud Service Selection and Adoption

Cloud computing (CC) offers its unique scalable and all time available services to the user. As service provision is an important part of the Cloud computing concept, the proper choice of the needed service according to the users’ needs is of most relevance. This research provides a review of Cloud service selection approach of multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA). MCDA enables the user to choose from several available choices based on the chosen criteria. In this paper, the criteria and subcriteria for choosing Cloud services in accordance with Cloud computing service model have been analysed.

Mobile devices as authentic and trustworthy sources in multi-agent systems

Current state of the art of mobile devices enables user to collect measured data of various physical phenomena. Such devices can be viewed as participating agents in a multi-agent system (MAS). By utilizing public key infrastructure (PKI) these devices can be promoted to an authentic and trustworthy source of data which can be used for forensic purposes. Broader picture of circumstances of an event of interest can be achieved by concurrently collecting still images or video files, and sensor measurements from multiple users, whos mobile devices participate as agents in a MAS. Participation of a user is voluntary, conditioned on the close proximity of the user to the event of interest (“geo-fencing”). The collected data is processed by cryptographic and steganographic methods, for the purpose of guarantee that the collected data if authentic and trustworthy. By digitally signing, the collected data has legal power and can be used for forensic purposes and in legal proceedings.

Usage of the Steganography within Highway Information and Communication Network

In this paper we propose usage of the network steganography within highway surveillance and information system as a transfer method for safety-sensitive information. Steganography methods form a covert sub-communication channel which is invisible without appropriate software support so unauthorized users are unaware that additional type of communication even exists. Each installed device can be connected to the highway surveillance centre via covert channel in order to exchange controlling, signalling or collected data. Main goal of covert channel usage is enhancement of the data and network security. In presented paper, basic properties of the various types of steganography methods and their respective features are briefly described and their utilization within highway surveillance system.

Student behavior in the mobile telecommunication market

In the current environment telecom service providers are trying to adapt an offer in line with customer requirements. Student population is one of a group of users of telecommunications services. Behavioral segmentation allows investigation of the student population in the use of telecommunications services. Users can be divided according to the behavior, habits, loyalty or frequency of use of services or products. Segmentation allows service providers to create the potential user groups and tariffs that are based on a variety of habits and behaviors related to the use of telecommunications services. This paper presents the results of use of telecommunications services among students.
