Search for multiparticle-multihole states of 40Ca with the 32S(12C,α) reaction☆

Abstract Levels of 40Ca below Ex = 10 MeV have been populated with the 32S(12C,α) reaction at an incident energy of 30 MeV. States which are thought to be based on 4p-4h and 8p-8h K = 0 configurations were more strongly populated than other low-lying states.

Is the 11.95 MeV 8+ state of 20Ne in the ground-state band?

Abstract Alpha-particle reduced widths for the 8 + state at 11.95 MeV, obtained from analysis of both 16 O + α resonant scattering data and 16 O( 6 Li, d) 20 Ne reaction data are consistent with expectation for the 8 + member of the ground-state rotational band.

Jπ assignments in 25Na from 23Na(t, p)

Abstract Results of the 23Na(t, p)25Na reaction establish J π = 3 2 + for the 90-keV state, confirm 3 2 + for the 2200-keV level, and establish positive parity (with J = 7 2 preferred) for the 2790-keV state.
