Evaluation of Financing Possibilities of Small and Medium Industrial Enterprises

Abstract In the submitted article we evaluate the possibilities of financing of enterprise subjects, with focus to small and medium- sized industrial enterprises. Each enterprise needs own financial sources for its activity. But many companies by the medium of self-financing cannot assure the trouble free running of the business and they are using various forms of external resources of settlement. The main aim of this article was to identify and evaluate the possibilities by which small and medium industrial enterprises in the Self-Governing Region of Trencin were financing their business activities. Partial aims were identification of factors which are determining selection of financing forms, analysis of financing forms of business subjects. The result of the realized research showed that the decision-making of enterprises financing form determine mainly the actual business needs, the ability to access foreign resources, and consequently the interest costs.

Quantification of the Efficiency of Public Administration by Data Envelopment Analysis

Abstract The issue of public administration effectiveness and its ensuring is increasingly gaining prominence in the macro-economic situation in the euro area. The public sector like the business sector must look for the opportunities to increase its efficiency. There are few ways of efficiency quantification, but considering the comprehensive assessment need of the research problems the most appropriate tool for performance quantification of public administration seems the packaging data analysis−DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). Packaging data analysis as a statistical method is an important tool in public administration officials’ future decision making, rationalization and optimization of public administration performance. The submitted article is focused to the application of DEA method in evaluating the effectiveness of the public administration in Slovakia.

Identification of Funding of Regional Governments Using Correlation Analysis

Abstract Slovak regional government is soon expecting its fourth elections. This is also the opportunity to compare the local governance in the Slovak Republic. The submitted article is focused to analyse the structure of funding sources in Slovak Higher Territorial Units with an accent to use of the Structural Funds. HTU budgets in the Slovak Republic are characterized generally by very low percentage of EU funding (moving around 1%). In the correlation analysis we find whether there is a correlation between the change in the composition of the council and HTU success in obtaining resources from the EU. This paper seeks an answer to the question whether the ending regional representations were more successful in obtaining external finance than their predecessors established in 2005. And if its success depends on their composition or the certain regions are more successful regardless of the composition of their regional parliaments.
