Four species have been recognized in the genus Jolyelmis Spangler & Faitoute; all collected at isolated table mountains, mostly in cool stenothermal hypocrenal streams. The known distribution of the genus is confined to Venezuela, and eachspecies is here reported as endemic for the respective table mountain where it has been found. Samples from Churi-tepuiand Mount Roraima in south-eastern Venezuela contained numerous adults and larvae of Elmidae among which is a newspecies, Jolyelmis spangleri, which is here described. The new species is illustrated and keyed with all other Jolyelmis, and new distributional data for J. reitmaieri Ciampor, Jr. & Kodada are included. Molecular analysis of partial cytochromeoxidase subunit I (cox1) confirmed conspecific life stages for two species: J. spangleri and J. reitmaieri. The larva of eachspecies is described and illustrated, and the generic diagnosis for Jolyelmis larvae is provided. Among the known larvaeof South American Elmidae, larvae of the genus Xenelmis Hinton appear to be the most similar. Morphological similarities are discussed. Habitats of adults and larvae are briefly described and illustrated by photographs.

The monotypic genus Phanoceroides was initially classified within the subfamily Elminae, based solely on the distribution and type of pubescence on the body surface. Although a close relationship with Larainae was suggested (Hinton 1939, Maier 2013), its taxonomic position and phylogeny remained unresolved. Based on newly collected material, we describe here P. fernandesi sp. n. and document morphological characters and differences of adults and larvae of P. aquaticus Hinton, 1939 and P. fernandesi sp. n. To clarify the taxonomic position of Phanoceroides within Elmidae, we used molecular data (cox1 and mtDNA). The results support position of the genus within the subfamily Larainae with Hypsilara Maier & Spangler, 2011 as a close relative.

Two new species of Ancyronyx Erichson, 1847 (Coleoptera: Elmidae) are described from Borneo: A. pulcherrimus (Brunei) and A. reticulatus (Sabah). Habitus views, illustrations of important characters as well as plastron structures of Ancyronyx reticulatus are presented and discussed.

Coleoptera: Elmidae and Protelmidae includes 151 extant genera and 1501 extant species as well as four fossil species described before 2015. Protelmidae are here elevated from tribal rank to family rank.

A new species of riffle beetle, Vietelmis jablonskii, from Laos and Thailand is described and illustrated. Differences to other Vietelmis species are discussed and an identification key for the Vietelmis is presented. New faunistic records are provided for V. kovaci Kodada & Čiampor, 2000; the genus Vietelmis is newly recorded for Thailand.

ABSTRACT Ten new species of the genus Ancyronyx Erichson, 1847 from Sulawesi are described along with additions to the original description of Ancyronyx raffaelacatharina Jäch, 2004. Ancyronyx vincentarnoldi sp. nov. belongs to the Ancyronyx variegatus (Germar, 1824) species-group; Ancyronyx breviparamerus sp. nov., Ancyronyx hafti sp. nov., Ancyronyx henningi sp. nov., Ancyronyx konjo sp. nov., Ancyronyx longiparamerus sp. nov., Ancyronyx skalei sp. nov., Ancyronyx schoedli sp. nov., Ancyronyx tobada sp. nov. and Ancyronyx toraja sp. nov. belong to the Ancyronyx patrolus Freitag & Jäch, 2007 species-group. Diagnostic characters are illustrated by photographs of habitus, line drawings of genitalia and by scanning electron micrographs. An updated checklist of all Ancyronyx species including distribution data is provided. Cox1 mitochondrial DNA sequences were amplified for nine of the species listed above and used to construct a haplotype network by the application of statistical parsimony. The molecular data support our morphological species concept except for two taxa that showed little genetic distance, but were distinguishable by the male genitalia. http://zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:0E11E48A-CE03-4D6F-B2F9-B83EEFA0790F
