Experimental assessment of phospho-silicate fibers for three-wavelength (1427 nm, 1455 nm, 1480 nm) reconfigurable Raman lasers

A three-wavelength reconfigurable cascaded Raman laser has been demonstrated in a phospho-silicate fiber using two types of Raman shifts. This laser provides high slope efficiencies compared to germano-silicate fiber lasers and control of the output powers. It enables to reduce (a) Output Stokes powers and total power versus pump power (b) Output spectrum with equalized power at the three output wavelengths.

FWM-assisted Raman laser for second-order Raman pumping

By enabling four-wave-mixing process within the cavity, a new type of Raman fiber laser for second-order pumping applications is demonstrated, exhibiting high stability down to a few milliwatts for the seed (1428 nm).

Dynamically tunable long period grating using two outer gels

We report a new principle to independently tune the wavelength and the transmission of a UV-photowritten Long Period Grating. This principle is based on a variable partial immersion of the grating with two optimized outer gels.
