The Winning Production Function: Empirical Evidence from Spanish Basketball

Abstract This article tries to assess empirically the relative importance of the key factors determining a basketball team performance. For this, and considering performance to be the result of an underlying production process, we estimate a logit model where the output produced by a team is the game outcome and the inputs are those play characteristics that impact on that outcome. From the results obtained it seems that, on average, there is a substantial difference between the impact of each play characteristic on a teams winning probability and that probability varies as the quality/quantity of the inputs changes, albeit not proportionally.

Influye la habilidad de rotar imágenes en el conocimiento de una ciudad

The aim of this study was to analyze the knowledge from the streets of A Coruna among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business in this city, and also find out if the ability to rotate images, and years spent in the city, were influencing this knowledge. A group of 88 students of the Degree in Business Administration from the University of A Coruna was selected. People who had been in the city for more than 10 years, identified more streets with the correct name than those who were in the city less than 10 years, however, among participants with high and low ability to rotate images, no significant differences in the number of correct names city streets were found.

Influencia de la familiaridad con una ciudad en su conocimiento

Este trabajo tenia por objetivo analizar si el genero de los individuos y los anos de permanencia en una ciudad influyen de forma significativa en el conocimiento de hitos urbanos. Para el estudio se selecciono a un grupo de 88 estudiantes del Grado en Administracion y Direccion de Empresas de la ciudad de A Coruna. El genero de los participantes no influyo de forma significativa sobre el conocimiento de hitos urbanos; sin embargo, las personas que llevaban en la ciudad mas de 10 anos recordaron mas nombres de edificios representativos que aquellos que llevaban en la ciudad menos de 10 anos.
