Design of medical remote monitoring system base on embedded Linux

A remote wireless monitoring terminal design, using ARM microprocessor as its core controller, is proposed in this paper. The whole system includes two sections. The first is the acquiring of physical signal design as monitoring terminal, which is composed of Blood Pressure Module, Blood Oxygen Module, ECG (Electrocardiogram), and respiration. The second is a method to achieve the function of remote monitoring based on 3G wireless network and SSH (Secure Shell). The whole software is run in embedded Linux system including driver and the corresponding applications. Experimental results showed that the design of telemonitoring system is reasonable, effective, meeting requirements basically.

An algorithm of premature contraction detection based on wavelet method

An algorithm of premature contraction recognition is proposed. Based on R-R interval and template matching, this method can automatically detect Atrial Premature Contraction (APC) and Premature Ventricular Contraction (PVC). After test results using data from MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database, the accuracy veracity detection of R wave is above 98.6%, APC is above 96% and PVC is above 90%.

A portable telemedicine monitoring information system based on mobile internet networks

A portable telemedicine monitoring information system is proposed in this paper, which can be used for monitoring the patients medical or health conditions anytime and anywhere the mobile internet network exists. The system includes two main parts, the monitoring terminals and the doctors work station in a remote hospital. The monitoring terminals use a wireless transmitter and an ARM9 embedded microprocessor as its core controller, and acquire the important life physiological signals, e.g., the Blood Pressure, the 7-lead ECG, the PPG for Blood Oxygen, and the Respiration Rate, which are also transferred to the doctors work station via 3G network. The doctors work station realizes the real time monitoring for the remote terminals, stores and retrieves the patients records. Based on this system, the doctors can adopt medical measures in the first time. Experimental results showed that the system is feasible and effective.

Research on digital pulse oximeter based on optical frequency converter

This paper specifically describes the design of hardware and software of a digital pulse oximeter based on ARM core embedded system and light-frequency converter. In this study, a light-frequency converter instead of a photodiode was adopted to receive the light transmitting, which greatly simplified the design of hardware. Besides, traditional methods of calculate frequency of rectangle signal were improved and an algorithm with stable sampling rate and high resolution was proposed. Based on the filtering and detecting methods of the pulse signal, the baseline drift and the noise on high frequency were successfully removed by applying integer coefficient filter. A detecting algorithm based on difference and threshold was proposed, and the future points of the signal can be extracted effectively. The result shows that this oximeter can overcome usual noise, the software is very flexible and simple in structure.
