The Secretariat area, in Brazil, has presented, in the last years, increasing breakthrough in many aspects, among them, the bibliographic production as booster mean of knowledge. The professional practice, as well as the academic brightness of Secretariat seeks theoretical display that consubstantiates its continuous evolution. In this regard, scientific papers, trials, books among other ways of publishing, assume overriding role and have tried to supplement the increasing demand. Considering the above importance, this work aims to identify the published books in the Secretariat area in Brazil during the years 2004 to 2013. It is about a qualitative study in which the data have been collected from indirect nonparticipating observation and analyzed by means of content analysis. The collected titles were divided into two large categories: professional and academic and, then, divided into subcategories. Some books, in this meantime, related to the historical or fictional literature were also added to the analysis. The research arose 92 published titles among the years 2004 and 2013 in the Secretariat area in Brazil. The titles and consequently the themes found were predominantly directed to the professional category, specifically to the secretarial techniques. Thus, the main identified shortages are related to the academic category: shortage of books directed to education, research and formation of professors in Secretariat, as well as results linked to communication, resiliency and other specific components.

Jakcilene Dias Rocha; Francisco Roberto Pinto; Joelma Soares da Silva

The purpose of this paper is to verify the formation of the Machiavellianism construct among professionals of merchant industry in the state of Ceara, Brazil. We performed a literature search followed by field research, in 164 shops of Fortaleza. We consulted 400 respondents, using the scale Machiavellianism Personality Scale (MPS), developed by Dahling, Whitaker and Levy (2009). According to the results obtained, it was possible to infer that the general objective of this study was reached when there was the formation of the five factors of Machiavellianism (Amoral, Interpersonal Influence, Status, Individualism and Disbelief in Others) and found that gender is interrelated with the Machiavellianism. This relationship, however, was not found considering religiosity, age and position (for managers and vendors). From the results presented in this study, one can devise strategies to better manage the collaboration of vendors and managers in shops, in order to improve interpersonal relationships of these professionals with its stakeholders and, consequently, optimize sales as are known in behave as these workers.
