Abstract The reaction of 1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane (M H M H ) with acid treated clays (Filtrol) gives a mixture of HSiMe 2 O-(M H ) stopped fluids, cyclic (Me 2 SiO) n oligomers and gaseous products which include H 2 and Me 2 SiH 2 . The reaction does not proceed with strong acid alone or with acid neutral clay.

Abstract Synthesis of the first silicon substituted benzaldehyde derivatives is described. Reduction of tetramethyldiphenyldisiloxane-4,4′-dicarboxylic acid chloride with tri-t-butoxylithiumaluminum hydride gives tetramethyldiphenyl-disiloxane-4,4′-dicarboxyaldehyde in 40% yield. Synthesis and characterization of Schiffs base derivatives are described.
