Motivación escolar: Claves para la formación motivacional de futuros docentes

Jorge Valenzuela; Carla Muñoz Valenzuela; Ilich Silva-Peña; Viviana Gómez Nocetti; Andrea Precht Gandarillas

This article suggests theoretical schemes that seem most relevant to motivational training of future teachers. This arises from the observation that pedagogy students’ motivational training is often made from theoretical models that, while they may be very predictive, are not adequate enough to offer clues for pedagogical intervention that focus on motivation for learning. Different theoretical approaches are discussed recognizing their contributions and limitations. Finally, we propose a theoretical framework that can contribute, in a relevant way for future teachers, to acquire theoretical elements which sustain their efforts to motivate their students, focusing on learning the motivational factors and leaving behind notions theoretically less relevant for this purpose. This article suggests theoretical schemes that seem most relevant to motivational training of future teachers. Características Psicométricas de una Rúbrica para Evaluar Expresión Escrita a Nivel Universitario

Carla Muñoz; Jorge Valenzuela

The aim of this paper is to present the psychometric properties of a rubric for assessing academic writing at university level. The study evaluated the production of an academic text in a sample of 745 freshmen from 17 academic programs. Through the rubric, trained correctors evaluated the essay. Reliability and factorial structure of the instrument as well as reliability between the test correctors were obtained. The results show that the exploratory factor analysis provides evidence of the factorial structure. Due to the high reliability indices, the rubric can be considered as a reliable and easy applicable instrument.
