A taxonomic study of the genus Heliotropium L. in the State of Pernambuco was carried out. The survey was based on field studies during 16 months and material provided by loan and donation from different brazilian herbaria. Seven species were recorded: H. angiospermum Murray, H. curassavicum L., H. elongatum (Lehm.) I.M. Johnst., H. indicum L., H. polyphyllum Lehm., H. procumbens Mill. and H. ternatum Vahl. H. curassavicum and H. ternatum represent new geographical occurrences from Northeastern and State of Pernambuco, Brazil, respectively. The species most widely distributed were H. angiospermum, H. elongatum and H. procumbens , occurring both since litoral to caatinga ́s zone. The taxonomy of the genus Heliotropium L. in Brazil was studied, revealing nine species and two varieties: H. amplexicaule Vahl, H. angiospermum Murray, H. curassavicum L., H. curassavicum var. argentinum I.M. Johnst., H. elongatum (Lehm.) I.M. Johnst., H. elongatum var. burchellii I.M. Johnst., H. indicum L., H. leiocarpum Morong, H. nicotianaefolium Poir., H. phylicoides Cham. and H. transalpinum Vell. Descriptions, illustrations, comments on relationships based on morphology and data on species distribution are presented.

SummaryTwo new species of Euploca (Heliotropiaceae): E. krapovickasii J. I. M. Melo & Semir and E. pottii J. I. M. Melo & Semir are described for Brazil, and 12 new combinations are proposed in neotropical Euploca. Discussions of taxonomic relationships based on morphology, with illustrations and information on geographical distribution, flowering and fruiting phenology are presented.

Melo, e descrita para o estado da Paraiba, Nordeste do Brasil. Sao apresentados comentarios enfocando afinidades taxonomicas, baseados em morfologia, bem como ilustracao e dados de fenologia reprodutiva.

Resumo Este trabalho consiste no levantamento da familia Turneraceae no estado do Rio Grande do Norte, nordeste brasileiro. Foram registradas 13 especies, distribuidas em dois generos: Piriqueta Aubl., com quatro especies ( P. duarteana (A. St.-Hil., A. Juss. & Cambess.) Urb. , P. guianensis N.E.Br. , P. racemosa (Jacq.) Sweet e P. viscosa Griseb.), e Turnera L., com nove especies ( T. blanchetiana Urb. , T. calyptrocarpa Urb. , T. cearensis Urb. , T. chamaedrifolia Cambess. , T. diffusa Willd. ex Schult. , T. melochioides A. St.-Hil. & Cambess. , T. pumilea L. , T. scabra Millp. e T. subulata Sm . ). Sao fornecidas chaves para separacao de generos e especies, descricoes e ilustracoes, alem de comentarios taxonomicos e biogeograficos para as especies. This study presents the floristic composition and similarity of synanthropic vascular plant species in an anthropogenic peri-urban area in the city of Joao Pessoa, in the state of Paraiba, and how it is related to other synanthropic floras. A total of 98 species in 75 genera and 30 families were found. Among the species, 41.84% are cosmopolitan, 29.6% pantropical, 13.3% occur only in the Southern Cone of America, 8.2% are Neotropical, 5.1% gondwanic and 2% occurs across America. Asteraceae and Poaceae were the families with the biggest number of species. The results were compared with other related floristic surveys using SA¶rensenâ€(tm)s similarity coefficient, and it was observed that not it is only the geographical proximity of the two locations that reflects a higher floristic similarity between areas but also the extent of the taxa and the presence of a similar microhabitat. The study focuses on an area located in the Brazilâ€(tm)s Midwest region.

Resumo Este trabalho consiste no levantamento floristico da familia Boraginaceae na APA Serra Branca/Raso da Catarina, localizada no municipio de Jeremoabo, Bahia. Foram analisados especimes coletados no periodo de Agosto/2009 a Junho/2011 e colecoes herborizadas depositadas nos Herbarios ALCB, HRB e HUEFS. Foram encontrados quatro generos e dez especies de Boraginaceae: Cordia rufescens A.DC., C. trichotoma (Vell.) Arrab. ex Steud., C. glabrata (Mart.) A.DC., Heliotropium angiospermum Murray, H. elongatum (Lehm.) I.M.Johnst., Tournefortia rubicunda Salzm. ex DC., T. salzmannii DC., Varronia curassavica Jacq., V. globosa Jacq. e V. leucocephala (Moric.) J.S.Mill. Sao apresentadas chaves para identificacao de generos e especies, descricoes, ilustracoes, comentarios sobre distribuicao geografica e fenologia das especies. A Area de Protecao Ambiental (APA) do Cariri esta localizada entre os municipios de Boa Vista e Cabaceiras, estado da Paraiba, Nordeste do Brasil. Esta APA apresenta microhabitats variados, dentre os quais se destacam os corpos aquaticos. O presente estudo compreende o levantamento das angiospermas aquaticas na APA do Cariri, onde foram registradas 29 especies distribuidas em 22 generos e 14 familias, sendo Cyperaceae a que apresentou maior riqueza especifica (nove spp.). Nesse trabalho sao apresentadas descricoes, ilustracoes, dados de distribuicao, floracao e/ou frutificacao, alem de uma chave de identificacao para as especies registradas na APA.
