Over 200 mW 980 nm pump laser diode module using optimized high-coupling lensed fiber

The high-power 980-nm pumping laser diode module of 230 mW at kink driving current was fabricated by optimizing the wedge-shape of lensed fiber to achieve 95% coupling efficiency.

In conclusion, we have successfully developed an integrated 1.48-/spl mu/m pumping laser diode (LD) module for Er-doped fibre amplifiers and realized both high pumping power and compact package size of 45/spl times/24/spl times/8 mm.
