The explosive growth in Internet usage has changed the ways companies do business. One of the most frequently discussed effects of the emergence of the Internet channel has been disintermediation. The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether the growing e-business armed with the Internet channel will lead to disintermediation. This research question is explored within a game theoretic model capturing the fundamental difference between the physical store and the Internet channel. The model also captures the heterogeneity in buyer preference for the Internet channel as well as that for the physical store. The closed form equilibrium solutions of the model reveal a negative incentive of disintermediation. The intuitions and implications are discussed.

To realize the implementation of agent based B2B e-commerce in ubiquitous environment, we design the b-cart based B2B agent framework. B-cart implies a buyers shopping cart which a buyer carries. The prototype agent, named AgentU, is designed to provide an effective architecture for the direct purchasing from multiple external e-markets in ubiquitous environment. In this paper, by providing the features and architecture of AgentU, we analyze the pros and cons of this architecture with related issues such as comparison and inventory for B2B. The buyer using AgentU can collect items from different e-markets, and can order purchases simultaneously over the collected items. It also supports integrated services in personalized comparison on purchasing items, order tracking, financial/payment management, users account management, negotiation management, personal decision support, tight integration between the b-cart and e-procurement systems, and context awareness.

The purpose of the research is to investigate the impact of the implementation and recognition for KM strategies on KM performances in public enterprises. The research identified critical factors of KM strategies and performances through literature review, measured the degrees of implementation and significance recognition for the strategies targeting public enterprises, and analyzed the KM performance levels based on the combined degrees of the implementation and the recognition for KM strategies. The findings illustrate that not only the KM strategies implementation, but also the significance recognition can affect the KM performances. The researchers urge that organizations, in advance, should request their employees` understanding and significance recognition for KM strategies to successfully implement their knowledge management.
