Display Omitted There is no investigation of supplier selection in nuclear power industry using extended VIKOR under linguistic information. The proposed method can promote the accuracy and quality of decision-making.The decision process and management efficiency can be improved. With Chinese nuclear power restarting, supplier selection in quality-sensitive nuclear power industry has become increasingly urgent and necessary. However, the current research on supplier selection in nuclear power industry is rather few. Moreover, there is still one great problem in the present methods: the description of the information uncertainty is inadequate. This paper proposes an extended Vlsekriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) under linguistic information to evaluate the uncertainty of potential supplier quantitatively and scientifically. The cloud model is used to handle imprecise numerical quantities, which can give consideration to both fuzziness and randomness of uncertain information. An empirical example of a nuclear power plant in China illustrates an application to supplier selection in nuclear power industry, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed method. Finally, a comparative analysis with fuzzy VIKOR and sensitivity analysis of results are presented to verify the correctness and robustness of the extended method respectively.

Multi-criteria decision-making on assessment of proposed tidal barrage schemes in terms of environmental impacts

Yunna Wu; Chuanbo Xu; Yiming Ke; Kaifeng Chen; Hu Xu

For tidal range power plants to be sustainable, the environmental impacts caused by the implement of various tidal barrage schemes must be assessed before construction. However, several problems exist in the current researches: firstly, evaluation criteria of the tidal barrage schemes environmental impact assessment (EIA) are not adequate; secondly, uncertainty of criteria information fails to be processed properly; thirdly, correlation among criteria is unreasonably measured. Hence the contributions of this paper are as follows: firstly, an evaluation criteria system is established from three dimensions of hydrodynamic, biological and morphological aspects. Secondly, cloud model is applied to describe the uncertainty of criteria information. Thirdly, Choquet integral with respect to λ-fuzzy measure is introduced to measure the correlation among criteria. On the above bases, a multi-criteria decision-making decision framework for tidal barrage scheme EIA is established to select the optimal scheme. Finally, a case study demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed framework.

Cost monitoring and optimisation system for large complex project

Yunna Wu; Kaifeng Chen; Lingwenying Li; Yong Huang; Meng Yang; Haobo Zhang

Characteristics of large complex projects include great investment, big construction difficulty, long construction period, probably risk factors and the like. Although the previous researchers introduced the life cycle management to control investment, the move fails to achieve satisfactory results. The lack of systemic consideration can explain this. Therefore, the three-dimensional lifecycle investment management system is constructed to control investment in this paper. The dimension of subcontract hierarchy refers to the levels of the contractor. The dimension of cost milestone points means the cost supervision node. The dimension of program support review optimising is used to analyse systematically and fix the cost deviation. Then, the index system of cost monitoring milestone point is built. Finally, the operation mechanism of the management system is illustrated on the basis of mapping model between the contract and project work breakdown structure. A case study proves that the cost management system is effective.

An innovative method for offshore wind farm site selection based on the interval number with probability distribution

Yunna Wu; Kaifeng Chen; Hu Xu; Chuanbo Xu; Haobo Zhang; Meng Yang

ABSTRACT There is insufficient research relating to offshore wind farm site selection in China. The current methods for site selection have some defects. First, information loss is caused by two aspects: the implicit assumption that the probability distribution on the interval number is uniform; and ignoring the value of decision makers’ (DMs’) common opinion on the criteria information evaluation. Secondly, the difference in DMs’ utility function has failed to receive attention. An innovative method is proposed in this article to solve these drawbacks. First, a new form of interval number and its weighted operator are proposed to reflect the uncertainty and reduce information loss. Secondly, a new stochastic dominance degree is proposed to quantify the interval number with a probability distribution. Thirdly, a two-stage method integrating the weighted operator with stochastic dominance degree is proposed to evaluate the alternatives. Finally, a case from China proves the effectiveness of this method.

The Technology Status of Shale Gas Exploration and Development in China Based on Swot Analysis

Yunna Wu; Yisheng Yang; Kaifeng Chen; Xinli Xiao

Despite the rapid development of shale gas in China, further development encounters strong resistances owing to the impact of the late start, relatively backward technology and other factors. First, this article studies the worldwide status of technological development of shale gas, reviews key technology of shale gas exploration and development mastered in China, and compares shale gas-related technical conditions between China and foreign. Then the SWOT analysis is applied to research and analyze the factors affecting the technological development of Chinese shale gas industry, and their influence mechanism is investigated thoroughly to identify the key factors that influence the technological development of shale gas. Finally, the result shows that Chinese technological level in shale gas industry is still relatively backward, despite having made some progresses. Government support policy, Sino-foreign cooperations and exchanges and healthy competition are significant and in great need.
