A novel kind of SC (superconducting) solenoid coil is designed to satisfy the homogeneity requirement of the magnetic field. In this paper, we first calculate the current density distribution of the solenoid coil section through the linear programming method. Then a traditional solenoid and a nonrectangular section solenoid are designed to produce a central field up to 7 T with a homogeneity to the greatest extent. After comparision of the two solenoid coils designed in magnet field quality, fabrication cost and other aspects, the new design of the nonrectangular section of a solenoid coil can be realized through improving the techniques of framework fabrication and winding. Finally, the outlook and error analysis of this kind of SC magnet coil are also discussed briefly.

By use the taper high voltage windings, the Tesla transformer with compact structure can be built. However, the flashover between coils will occur because of un-uniform of the voltage distribution along the windings. Therefore, researching the voltage distribution of the Tesla transformer, improving the distribution by appropriate method and designing optimized structure of the windings would highly improve repetitive ability of the transformer, which have theoretical and engineering significance for the Tesla transformers working in reliable and security. In order to study the voltage distribution on the pulse transformers taper windings, according to the structure of the factual pulse transformers taper windings, the voltage of a uniform tesla transformers windings was measured in the paper. It is shown that the voltage distribution of taper winding is not uniform, and the distributed curve of its interturn voltage is U shape with 100ns pulse. Based on the results, the methods to improve the distribution of the tape winding were bring forwards by measuring and analyzing the voltage distribution of other taper windings with different structure. These results can give some references to interturn insulation designs of Tesla transformers windings.

In order to develop a repetitive frequency accelerator, a repetitive pulse transformer with output voltage (U2m) of 300kV, average power of 40kW, and more than 500ns pulse duration has been designed and tested. The primary and secondary windings are double coils, which consist of four shunt segments. Its characteristics consists in improving the electric field of windings uniformity. Using an amorphous alloy core helps to improve pulse waveform of output voltage and increase energy transfer efficiency. The experimental results show that the transformer can satisfy designed requirement.
