テトラサイクリン固定化架橋コラーゲンフイルム (; TCフイルム) およびテトラサイクリン未固定のプラセボフイルムを歯周疾患患者5名の4mm以上の歯周ポケットを有する20被検歯に1回局所投与し, その臨床的および細菌学的効果の持続期間について検討を行った。その結果, TCフイルム投与群ではプラセボ投与群に比較して, (1) ペリオトロン値は, 投与後2週まで, Bleedingの出現率は, 投与後3週まで, Pocket depthは, 投与後4週まで, 有意な減少が認められたが, Plaque index, Gingival indexについては, 有意な差異は認められなかった。 (2) 歯周ポケット内からの採取細菌数および黒色色素産生バクテロイデスの採取細菌数に対する比率は, 投与後2週まで有意に減少した。以上の結果から, TCフィルムの1回局所投与により, 約2～3週間にわたって臨床的および細菌学的効果の持続が期待できることが解った
