A new method to determine the relation between the particle size and chemical composition of tobacco smoke particles

Abstract A new method was applied to determine whether chemical differences exist among tobacco smoke particles with respect to particle size. The method used was a combination of a screen type diffusion battery and gas chromatography with a trimethylsilylation technique. The results showed that the portion of chemical compounds with higher b.p. in the tobacco smoke increases with particle size.
