Complexation chemistry. Double- and multi-1,3-alternate-calixcrowns

Abstract Metal ion complexation behavior in calix[4]crown multimers ( mono , di , trimer ) have been investigated through X-ray crystallography, two-phase extraction, and 1 H NMR measurement.

Isolation and Identification of Dihydrochrysanolide and Its 1-Epimer from Chrysanthemum coronarium L.

A new sesquiterpene lactone (1) was isolated with known dihydrochrysanolide derivatives (2 and 3) from the flowers of Chrysanthemum coronarium L., and their structures were identified by spectroscopic data. The stereochemistry of the epimers (1 and 2) was determined from NOESY data and an X-ray crystallographic analysis. The isolated compounds (1–3) were examined for their cytotoxic activity against such human cell lines as A549, PC-3 and HCT-15.

New sesquiterpene lactones from Hemisteptia lyrata bunge

From the flowers of Hemisteptia lyrata, two new and two known guaianolides were isolated. The structures and relative configuration of the new compounds were established as 8α-O-2-hydroxymethyl-2-propenoyl-3β-hydroxy-13-methoxy-4(15),10(14)-guaiadien-12,6-olide (1) and 3β,8α-dihydroxy-13-methoxy-4(15),10(14)-guaiadien-12,6-olide (2), together with known compounds, isoamberboin (3) and 11,13-dihydro-deacylcynaropicrin (4). The structures were established by spectral data and X-Ray diffraction analysis.
