Experimental Study of the Viscoelastic Properties of Textile Fibers Part II: The Influence of Physical Treatments upon the Dynamic Properties of Some Fiber-Forming Polymers

A paper chromatographic method for determining the extent of damage by oxidizing or alkaline solutions to wool fabrics of unknown history is described. The presence of other textile fibers does not constitute an interference.

Tensile stress relaxation behavior of semicrystalline polymers in terms of validity of time-temperature superposition

Abstract 1. 1. Assuming separate time-temperature superposition relations within the glass transition and the leathery or rubbery regions of semi- to quasi-crystalline polymers, the relaxation spectrum of these polymers was separated into the wedge and the low plateau portions and the temperature dependence of their shift factors was found to obey the W.L.F. equation having different constants. 2. 2. The changes of shape of the partial relaxation spectra thus separated, and of the temperature dependence of their shift factors in terms of the constants of the W.L.F. equation, with the polymer structure, were discussed. The slope of the wedge portion increased and the maximum height of the low plateau portion decreased as the polymer structure changed from semicrystalline to amorphous. The difference of the constants of the W.L.F. equation between the wedge and the low plateau portions diminished as the polymer changed from semicrystalline to amorphous, revealing the applicability of a single W.L.F. equation for an amorphous polymer over the entire relaxation spectrum from the wedge portion to the end of the low plateau portion. 3. 3. The separation of the relaxation spectrum into several portions having different temperature dependence of the shift factor enabled us to calculate the temperature dependence of dynamic mechanical properties at a fixed time or frequency even for the system showing several distinct relaxation mechanisms.

Orthotropic-Laminated Plate

目的異方性積層板である強化プラスチックスの強度を支配する要素の一つは, 積層板単位厚さに含まれる補強材であるガラス繊維布の数であるが, この関係はガラス繊維布層に加えられる加圧力にまた支配される.本研究ではまず基本的にガラス繊維布を積み重ねた層は加圧力によって厚さがいかに変化するかの追究を試みた.成果ガラス繊維を平織, 朱子織, あるいはマットとしたものについて種々圧縮試験をおこなった結果, ガラス繊維布層の厚さと加圧力との関係は途中に折曲点のある第1段階と第2段階を経る.その第1段階はきわめて低圧の状態を除いてはlogt0=-mtlogp+b1なる関係があり, 第2段階ではlogt0=-m2logp+b2なる関係があることがわかった.なおm, bはガラス繊維布の状態とか未硬化樹脂の有無によって異なった値をとる.

Dynamical Study On Running Belt

This paper deals with theoretical cosiderations of dynamics on the special wide V belt when running. There are very few papers reported in the literatures, especially theoretical ones. Therefore it is not useless to study the dynamics theoretically. This paper consists of two treatments. One is the study on vibration taking place on the running belt, and the other is on the stability of running belt.1. Firstly the shape of vibrations which occur on the running belts has been examined to clarify the most harmful form of the wave in order to prevent the damage, and it found that the most easiest and effective method to prevent the harm is to change its tension a little to guard against the resonace of belt caused by outer forces.2. Among V betls used in the variable speed mechanism, there are special belts having a wide breadth than ordinary one. Employing these belts, we sometimes encountered with happenings which seemed to have been caused by the buckling where the belt ran into a pair of sheaves. The reason of it can be explained as follows: The buckling force is occured when the side pressure of belt comes unevenly to the upper part of the belt. In order to hold the stability of running belt, the maximum side pressure can be obtained as an action of bredth thickness, youngs modulus and Poissons ratio.

A Study on the Fatigue of Tire-Cords

研究目的耐久限度付近の屈曲疲労寿命のばらつきに対して第4報の基本的な仮定が適用できるか否かを確かめる.研究結果(1) 屈曲疲労寿命のばらつきに関する第4報の仮定 (第4報結論 (1)) は耐久限度付近のばらつきに対しても適用できる.(2) ただし耐久限度付近の第2種のばらつきは対数正規分布ではなく, 対数疲労寿命分布範囲の比較的下限に近い位置に最頻値を持つ正歪度の分布をなす.

Deflection of the Needle of Card Clothing

研究目的針布形成針の撓みに関し特に基布の影響を考慮に入れて、針頭の垂直及び水平変位を理論的に求め、併せてそれ等の変位量を荷重の函数で表わす簡単な理論式を導いた。研究結果針先に水平力P (gr) が作用したとき、針頭の垂直変位 (針頭面からの出張りの大さ) はS=aP-bP2 (mm) 又針頭の水平変位はR=cP十dP2 (mm) で表わされる。係数abcdに関しては針布の種類によつて異り、その例を示すと次表のようである。

Frequency Dependency of the Solid Viscosity of Textile Materials(2)

研究目的ストレツチバイブロメータによる50~500c.p.s.程度の振動周波数における各種纎維材料の振動的性質の測定に引続いて、新らしく試作した振子型試験機を用いて振動周波数が極めて低い0.6c.p.s.程度において測定を行い、纎維材料固体粘性係数の周波数依存性に関する研究の一環とする。研究結果近似的にVoigtの模型を仮定すれば試料の振動的性質は縦弾性係数と粘性係数とで表現せられ、これ等2係数は測定時の静的初張力の増加に伴つて一般に上昇する傾向である。弾性損失係数は張力増加につれて上昇するものと低下するものとに大別せられ、紡績糸は後者に属する。本測定における0.6c.p.s.程度の極低周波数域における測定を第1報の高い周波数の測定と比較すると縦弾性係数は一般にやゝ小さく、弾性損失係数は特殊なものを除いて一般により大きい。又本測定で求めた縦弾性係数を静的変形率0%に外挿した値は、荷重伸び率曲線の原点を通る切線の傾きから求められる所謂静的弾性係数に比して一般にほゞ等しいか僅か大きい程度である。

研究目的予て自由振動法によつて繊維材料の固体粘性に関する研究を行って来たか、固体粘性係数は負荷の繰返し周波によつて著しく変化するから、周波数の広い範囲で測定を行う必要を認め.今回はストレツチパイノロメータによつて50~500cpsの範囲において周波数の影響を調へた。研究結果生糸覧木綿、レーヨンビスース、エストロン、ビユロン、アミランの各糸について、周波数50~500c.psの囲で、弾性係数、固体粘性係数を測定し、これ等係数と緩和時聞及ひQ-1-値か周波数によって変化する有を明かにした。
