Pesticide Management and Insecticide Resistance | 1977

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses a new insecticide for the control of flies and agricultural insect pests. CM-UTH 1424, 1,3-bis (m-chlorophenyl)-2-trichloro-/methyl-imidazolidine is an experimental insecticide with novel structure. It shows good biological efficacy against flies as well as phytophagous insects, particularly lepidoptera and coleoptera species. It is characterized by low acute mammalian oral toxicity and limited soil persistence. Preliminary trial results also indicate a good chance for the control of agricultural pest species. Against multiresistant strains no cross resistance was found. On the basis of these properties, the control of flies appears to be a promising field of applications, as might be demonstrated by practical trials under moderate climate conditions.
