Dynamic Flow Localization in Plane-Strain Blocks Obeying a Thermo-Elasto-Viscoplastic Constitutive Equation

A thermo-elasto-viscoplastic constitutive equation expressing the strain-rate- and temperature-history dependence of the flow stress under rapid change in strain rate and temperature during the deformation processes has been developed. By means of full plane-strain finite element analysis, dynamic flow localization in tension of thermo-elastoviscoplastic blocks under a wide range of deformation rates has been investigated numerically.

FLOW LOCALIZATION IN THERMO-ELASTO-VISCOPLASTIC MATERIALS UNDER PLANE STRAIN CONDITION

The material strain rate and temperature sensitivities are incorporated into a numerical simulation of tension and compression of the plane strain blocks under a wide range of deformation rates. The effect of deformation rate, strain rate and temperature sensitivities of the materials, the strain rate history dependence of the material and the size of the specimen on the flow localization is explored.

ON THE CONSTITUTIVE EQUATIONS FOR NONPROPORTIONAL LOADING CONDITIONS

ABSTRACT The constitutive model with a modified anisotropic yield function and a nonlinear kinematic hardening rule is proposed for the description of inelastic behaviour of metallic materials under nonproportional loading. The experimental verification by using bilinear plastic strain paths was also carried out on S21C and A2017 aluminum alloy and the experimental results were compared with the numerical simulation based on the proposed model.
