Cellular automata based edge-detection for brain tumor

Manoj Diwakar; Pawan Kumar Patel; Kunal Gupta

In the area of image processing, several methods of edge detection have been proposed till now like Sobel, Robert, Prewitt, Canny, Marr-Hildreth etc. All these methods are having their own advantages and disadvantages. In this paper a new method has been proposed for edge detection using Cellular Automata. Different rules have been applied for edge detection. The outputs are better in terms of clarity and computation time. Finally, the edge detection has been applied for detecting cancerous cells in brain. Using Cellular Automata rules helps in determining the exact location and size of tumor as edges detected using Cellular Automata are fine, continuous and clear. The results of edge detection are confirmed with graphical examples.

Smartphone Security and Contact Synchronization

Kunal Gupta; Ravi Kumar; Sachin Loothra

People from across the world are switching from traditional cell phones to more complex and connected smart phones. The invasion of smart phone has revolutionized the way we live. The smart phone technology has become like a phantom limb for its worldwide users. But the problems regarding smart phone security and contact synchronization are yet to be solved. In case, you lost your smart phone or changed your SIM Card number, then all your friends lose connection with you. There is no way left to connect to your friends or automatically notify them about your SIM Card number change. Moreover, the theft of smart phone is turning out to be the fastest growing undetectable crime in leading metro cities. The manufacturers of these smart gadgets have shown least interest in solving this problem as they have been in designing devices that have reshaped how we live. In present scenario, it is highly difficult to identify and catch the thief. Thus, most of the smart phone theft cases remain closed or unsolved.

Dynamic ad hoc transport protocol (D-ATP) for Mobile Ad hoc Networks

Kriti Gupta; Kunal Gupta; Omprakash Kaiwartya

Redesigning of traditional TCP has been one of the preferred choices among researchers to make it compatible for MANETs. Redesigns of traditional TCP, developed in the past are not more suitable due highly unpredictable environment of MANETs. Therefore, in this paper we have proposed Dynamic Ad Hoc Transport Control Protocol (D-ATP) for MANETs. D-ATP has four main concepts, improved feedback parameter estimation, mobility and life time based path selection, memory aware congestion control, and cooperative reliability enforcement. The highly dynamic networks environment of MANETs has been predicted using the information received from intermediate nodes. D-ATP has been simulated in ns-2. Traditional TCP, TCP-ELFN and ATP have been used for comparative analysis. The result analysis shows that the D-ATP outperforms all the considered protocols in terms of throughput and end-to end delay in realistic environment.

Guaranteed Convergence Particle Swarm Optimization using Personal Best

Pawan Kumar Patel; Vivek Kumar Sharma; Kunal Gupta

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO),is well known technique for population based global search but its limitation to premature convergence before finding the true global minimiser .In this paper We introduce a technique by adding new parameters and a new velocity update formula using personal best value discovered by the swarm particles and decreasing the diameter of search space which prevents premature convergence before finding the true global minimiser. The resulting particle swarmoptimization (PGCPSO) provides a mechanism which is more efficient in finding true global minimizer while it was tested across the benchmark suite .

ITMS (Intelligent Traffic Management System)

Rahul Kumar; Kunal Gupta

In the present work, an ITMS (Intelligent Traffic Management System) is used for managing and controlling traffic lights based on photoelectric sensors placed on one side of the road. The suitable space between each sensor is selected by the traffic control authority. As a result, the traffic control authority can supervise vehicle that are running toward a particular traffic direction and can thereby manage transmission of information signal to microcontrollers which are fixed to the traffic control cabinet. An Arduino is a microcontroller which is capable of managing the traffic signals by using the information sent by the infrared sensors. In case of emergency, this system can pass the ministries vehicles, ambulance, and fire brigade buses that oblige urgent opening, i.e., clearance from traffic signal system by using RFID-based technology.

Fuzzy Based Routing Algorithm for Congestion Control in Internet

Neha Aggarwal; Deepak Gaur; Kunal Gupta

In this paper we propose a fuzzy based routing algorithm in which the link cost are dynamically assigned using a fuzzy system. Based on a set of fuzzy rules, link cost is dynamically assigned depending upon the current condition of the network. The proposed fuzzy scheme determines the integrity of a link given the current congestion state calculated via the delay experienced in the network and the offered load on the network. Delay and Queue length are the two inputs to the Fuzzy system. Delay was estimated by the time taken for the packets to travel between nodes and queue length is the number of packets waiting in the queue. The cost of a link for certain interval is the output of the fuzzy system. Simulations results showed that the fuzzy scheme offered improved performance in congestion avoidance.

Convolution integral equations involving a general class of polynomials and the multivariableH-function

Kunal Gupta; Rashmi Jain; Pawan Agrawal

In this paper we first solve a convolution integral equation involving product of the general class of polynomials and theH-function of several variables. Due to general nature of the general class of polynomials and theH-function of several variables which occur as kernels in our main convolution integral equation, we can obtain from it solutions of a large number of convolution integral equations involving products of several useful polynomials and special functions as its special cases. We record here only one such special case which involves the product of general class of polynomials and Appells functionF3. We also give exact references of two results recently obtained by Srivastavaet al [10] and Rashmi Jain [3] which follow as special cases of our main result.

Approach Towards Increasing Efficiency of Communication Protocol in Wireless Sensor Network Using Modified Routing Protocol

Rashmi Jain; Abhinav Kumar; Kunal Gupta

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), have served humankind to screen nature of the spots which are impossible. The sensor hubs have constrained vitality to sense and send the information. The utilization of vitality ought to be effective so that system lifetime and also the throughput is moved forward. A portion of the directing conventions have been conceived to course the information detected by the sensors in the WSN are pointed to be vitality proficient. Grouping based Energy effective Steering conventions principally harp on expanding the lifetime as well as execution of the system. Drain based conventions can be adjusted to give a system more lifetime and enhanced execution. In this paper, we have investigated and thought about two WSN conventions, Neural M-GEAR, MGear and Neural LEACH, Leach on the grounds of system lifetime and execution of the system.

Intelligent Parking Management System Using RFID

Priyanka Singh; Kunal Gupta

In India the parking management system we have is manually controlled. This causes long queues for parking and traffic in the road in search for a free parking slot. So we need a system which saves people’s time and reduces the emission from the vehicles. This can be done by the use of RFID technology in our parking management system. With RFID technology we can automate our parking management system and reduce long queues for parking vehicles. In this paper we have implemented the RFID technology into the parking management system using Arduino for connections and Visual Studio with SQL Server Management Studio for database.

Implementation of E-Demand Draft

Stuti Saxena; Lipsa Ahuja; Kunal Gupta

demand draft is an online Demand Draft generating application. E-demand draft is an application which will help us to generate a demand draft online by the user itself. Thus this application will reduce the work of the banks and will help the customer to get a new facility at their place as result both can reduce their time of work. For each sub-task some classical and updated methods in literatures are analyzed. Based on the study, an combined solution for implementation of E-demand draft developed for demonstration. Demonstration program is coded in .NET. For the program, some optimization at coding level and existing system level are proposed to improve the performance of online Demand Draft system. This system is shown by generating Demand Draft sitting at home and taking print out of the generated Demand Draft on stamped sheet provided by the bank.
