Dental Variability in Isolates

The range of variation in permanent teeth of Habani Jews, a highly inbred isolate, were found to be similar to those of other more heterogeneous groups.

Dentition of Bedouins in Israel: I. Epidemiology:

An examination for oral health status was conducted on 423 Bedouins living in Israel. Caries prevalance was low, and fluorosis was absent. Periodontal disease and dental calculus accretion were moderately prevalent. Soft debris accumulation was great. The relationship between these findings and the environment of the Bedouins was discussed.

Ellis-Van Creveld syndrome: Report of a case

Abstract The case of an 8-year-old girl has been presented. The patient showed oligodontia and absence of mucolabial folds, dwarfism, polydactylia, and congenital heart disease, together with a number of minor abnormalities. The childs parents were closely related. The condition known as Ellis-Van Crevelds syndrome is thought to be a recessive hereditary characteristic.

Malocclusion in different ethnic groups living in Israel

Abstract A total of 4,500 children, 13 to 14 years of age, were examined for the prevalence of malocclusion. Two dentists who had been previously trained and found to show comparable findings performed the examinations by means of mouth mirror and explorer. Malocclusion was classified according to Angles system. Findings were analyzed with regard to sex, origin, time of residence in Israel, and type of settlement.
