Jong-Yong Lee; Kye-Dong Jung; Seok-Jae Moon; Hwa-Young Jeong

This paper proposes to increase the efficiency energy of nodes which rapidly drops during the transmission of the LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy), using the method of the dual-hop layered in the sensor field. By introducing dual-hop method in the data transmission, the proposed single-hop method for short-range transmission and multi-hop transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission was introduce. By introducing a partial multi-hop method in the data transmission, a single-hop method for short range transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission was introduces. In the proposed DL-LEACH, the energy consumption of cluster head for remote transmission reduces and increases the energy efficiency of sensor node by reducing the transmission distance and simplifying the transmission routine for short-range transmission. As compared the general LEACH, it was adapted to a wider sensor field.

Improving the Energy Efficiency of a Cluster Head Election for Wireless Sensor Networks

Jong-Yong Lee; Kye-Dong Jung; Hanmin Jung; Daesung Lee

Sensor Networks can perceive the extensive area by applying many sensor nodes because the size of sensor nodes is relatively small and cheap. Sensor nodes can transfer multi-hop data to sink nodes which are far away than sending and receiving distance. Generally sensor nodes are composed of a large size so it is difficult that much capacity is loaded on nodes. Many routing methods are proposed in order to raise energy efficiency in sensor networks field. There is a routing method based on structure as a composing method of network by cluster. Cluster technology consisting and maintaining network topology based on cluster is mostly studied in routing protocol. There are demerits that LEACH, EACHS shall be rest energy of all nodes and HEED does not guarantee the number of cluster head. Proposed energy efficiency of selected cluster head guarantees the number of cluster head which is a demerit of HEED and minimizes the node of DEAD.

Kye-Dong Jung; Jong-Yong Lee; Hwa-Young Jeong

In this paper, we proposed the clustering algorithm using fuzzy inference system for improving adaptability the cluster head selection of TEEN for the wireless multimedia sensor network. The stochastic selection method cannot guarantee available of cluster head. Furthermore, as the formation of clusters is not optimized, the network lifetime is impeded. To improve this problem, we propose the algorithm that gathers attributes of sensor node to evaluate probability to be cluster head.

Tae-Hoon Yoo; Gang-Seong Lee; Kye-Dong Jung; YeongPyo Hong; Sang-Hun Lee

In this paper, a row-direction reconstruction algorithm is proposed to recover the lost depth information from a monocular image. The depth of objects in an image is usually determined by the depth of the bottom area of objects. Therefore, using the relationship between the upper and lower areas, a depth map is reconstructed for processing in the row-direction. The relationship is expressed using the energy function and this function is used to estimate the depth. Because the energy function is defined from the various depth cues, the algorithm can be applied to various images. The objective effectiveness of the algorithm is shown using PSNR.

Chi-Gon Hwang; Hyo-Young Shin; Sang-Hoon Lee; Kye-Dong Jung

Abstract Recently, most of computing technology is based on web. Therefore, the users register web services or needed resources, and they can find and use the registered item. These services can be used alone or can be used in combination. When the item is used in combination, the ordering and association of service is important, and an ontology that defined association of services is required. In this paper, we define association of services based on ontology, and propose a method that can be used by services integration. The proposed method provides an efficient retrieval service by compositing the ontology with the service area and data association area. Data access control method for multimedia content data sharing and security based on XMDR-DAI in mobile cloud storage

Kye-Dong Jung; Seok-Jae Moon; Jin-Mook Kim

Mobile cloud storage service is used for users’ multimedia content data sharing or synchronization in effective way with several mobile devices. To save various content data in the mobile cloud storage, the matters of security should be treated in the process of data sharing to provide flexibility and expandability for solving its heterogeneousness. Currently, the cloud storage service generally encrypts the content data for the security. However, this method is not perfectly safe for it manages ID, password, and encryption key simply with software; thus it may accept unauthorized users. This research suggests the data access control model and the method for multimedia content sharing and security based on XMDR-DAI in the mobile cloud storage. It supports key management based on hardware, identification for the integrity of client software, and security key sharing. Also, the suggested model saves/manages different types of multimedia content, thus it establishes XMDR-DAI-based metadata relationship for the problems that occurred in searching to increase the reliability. And this research suggests the prototype using TPM emulator that is operated in secure world of ARM TrustZone and TrustZone environment.

XMDR-DAI-based USN multimedia MetaData management agent for sensor networks

Kye-Dong Jung; Seok-Jae Moon; Jong-Yong Lee

In a ubiquitous sensor network (USN) environment, it is necessary to define and manage a single metadata between the multimedia sensor and multimedia sensor node for interoperability purposes. One method to resolve this issue is the SensorML (Sensor Model Language), which is standard language that can be applied to sensor modeling. SensorML describes the model for data processing between multimedia sensors and provides a framework that can describe the information of each sensor. In this paper, an XMDR-DAI-based USN multimedia metadata is defined to describe the application of sensor devices, sensor nodes and sensor network information. And then an agent technology is used for effective storing and search of XMDR-DAI-based USN multimedia metadata. Sensor multimedia metadata can maintain interoperability in a USN multimedia environment based on SensorML, and the metadata management system can be directly used for metadata management in USN multimedia middleware or applications.
