Matrix-Star graphs: a new interconnection network based on matrix operations

Hyeong-Ok Lee; Jong-Seok Kim; Kyoung-Wook Park; Jeonghyun Seo; Eunseuk Oh

In this paper, we introduce new interconnection networks matrix-star graphsMTSn1,...,nk where a node is represented by n1 × ... × nk matrix and an edge is defined by using matrix operations. A matrix-star graph MTS2,n can be viewed as a generalization of the well-known star graph such as degree, connectivity, scalability, routing, diameter, and broadcasting. Next, we generalize MTS2,n to 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional matrix-star graphs MTSk, n, MTSk, n,p. One of important desirable properties of interconnection networks is network cost which is defined by degree times diameter. The star graph, which is one of popular interconnection topologies, has smaller network cost than other networks. Recently introduced network, the macro-star graph has smaller network cost than the star graph. We further improve network cost of the macro-star graph: Comparing a matrix-star graph

with n2! nodes to a macro-star graph MS(n–1,n–1) with ((n–1)2+1)! nodes, network cost of MTSk,k, k is O(n2.7) and that of MS(n–1,n–1) is O(n3). It means that a matrix-star graph is better than a star graph and a macro-star graph in terms of network cost.

Recently, at home and abroad cultural content industry has developed as the growing importance of history. Among them, the reconstruction contents area which combined with IT technology is attracting attention. Specially, using augmented reality technology, 3D visualization researches which restore contents of architectural heritage, cultural heritage sites, and artifacts have been performed in cultural content area. The existing cultural site restore contents are mostly made based on the images taken from indoor. In this paper, efficiently visualize the restore contents in indoor, but outdoors is limited. This theses presents the cultural heritage sites 3D model visualization system using augmented reality in outdoor. Proposed system augments 3D model to cultural heritage site in outdoor by using Smart Phone.

Aside from the issues like energy saving and maximizing network lifetime. WMSN has another issue to deal with: support of quality of service(QoS) which is required especially for handling real-time data such as object tracking and data gathering. This paper proposes a multipath routing algorithm considering the distance to sink node, energy level and link quality of neighbour nodes. Proposed algorithm supports multipath routing path with high quality links. Hence it helps to reduce a power consumption concentration that happens in particular set of nodes along the frequently selected route. It also specifies a service quality pattern and a service quality level depending on traffic pattern. By doing this, the proposed algorithm can realize a differentiated service with QoS guaranteed data transmission.

Index-based search algorithms are an important part of a genomic search, and how to construct indices is the key to an index-based search algorithm to compute similarities between two DNA sequences. In this paper, we propose an efficient query processing method that uses special transformations to construct an index. It uses small storage and it rapidly finds the similarity between two sequences in a DNA sequence database. At first, a sequence is partitioned into equal length windows. We select the likely subsequences by computing Hamming distance to query sequence. The algorithm then transforms the subsequences in each window into a multidimensional vector space by indexing the frequencies of the characters, including the positional information of the characters in the subsequences. The result of our experiments shows that the algorithm has faster run time than other heuristic algorithms based on index structure. Also, the algorithm is as accurate as those heuristic algorithms.

We consider the fault hamiltonian properties of m× n meshes with two wraparound edges in the first row and the last row, denoted by M 2(m,n), m ≥ 2, n ≥ 3. M 2(m,n) is a spanning subgraph of P m × C n which has interesting fault hamiltonian properties. We show that M 2(m,n) with odd n is hamiltonian-connected and 1-fault hamiltonian. For even n, M 2(m,n), which is bipartite, with a single faulty element is shown to be 1-fault strongly hamiltonian-laceable. In previous works [1,2], it was shown that P m × C n also has these hamiltonian properties. Our result shows that two additional wraparound edges are sufficient for an m × n mesh to have such properties rather than m wraparound edges. As an application of fault-hamiltonicity of M 2(m,n), we show that the n-dimensional hypercube is strongly hamiltonian laceable if there are at most n–2 faulty elements and at most one faulty vertex.

Efficient 3D design drawing visualization based on mobile augmented reality

Yeon-Jae Oh; Kyoung-Wook Park; Eung-Kon Kim

As the current heating control of the greenhouse is located in specifically designed place, there is an inevitable difference in degrees depending on the latitude in it. Even though it is necessary to maintain the proper temperature in the greenhouse producing vegetables and fruit plants, the difference between ups and downs in the facilities results in the increasing energy consumption to both warm and cool down the facilities. The newest heating method, automatic control system of vertical agitation heater, which manipulates the inner air circulation efficiently, is suggested in this paper. The proposed system utilizes both the upper temperature and the lower temperature, and controls the air circulation fan and heating independently, so that maximizes the efficiency of heating with the minimum energy and implements predictable planning of farm products.

As the popularization and development of 3D display makes common users easy to experience a solid 3D virtual reality, the demand for virtual reality contents are increasing. In this paper, we propose 3D panorama system using vanishing point locationbased depth map generation method. 3D panorama using depthmap stitching gives an effect that makes users feel staying at real place and looking around nearby circumstances. Also, 3D panorama gives free sight point for both nearby object and remote one and provides solid 3D video.

Recently, in manufacturing, machinery, construction and shipbuilding industry, diversified researches of visualizing design drawings without difficulty utilizing augmented reality technology have been performed. In this paper, we propose efficient 3D design drawing visualization technique based on mobile augmented reality. Proposed technique first recognizes design drawing region, and only performs image tracking in its region. Through performance analysis, it could be seen that in technique being suggested in this paper, drawing recognition time was reduced by 4-33%, drawing matching recognition rate was increased by 5-15% and number of output frame per second was increased by 7-8 frames per second.
