Abstract Salvia chanryoenica is an endemic species, which locates on the ridges of mountains in South Korea. In this study, we determined the complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequence of S. chanryoenica; cp genome of S. chanryoenica is 151,689u2009bp in length and consists of a large (82,903u2009bp) and small (17,634u2009bp) single-copy regions, separated by a pair of identical inverted repeats (25,576u2009bp). This genome contains unique 79 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA, and 4 rRNA. The gene order and organization of the S. chanryoenica are consistent with those of other Lamiaceae cp genomes. The overall GC content of the whole genome was 37.9%. Phylogenetic tree constructed based on 71 protein-coding genes demonstrated a sister relationship within genus Salvia.

The complete chloroplast genome sequence of Corylopsis coreana, the first sequenced of the genus Corylopsis, was reported in this study. The total length was 159,398xa0bp, containing a pair of 26,270xa0bp inverted repeat region, which were separated by SSC region and LSC region of 18,692 and 88,163xa0bp, respectively. The overall GC content of the genome was 38%. The genome encoded 130 genes, including 85 protein-coding genes, 37 transfer RNA genes, and eight ribosomal RNA genes. The maximum likelihood phylogenetic analysis revealed that C. coreana was closely related to Sinowilsonia.

Abstract Hydrangea luteovenosa is a member of the family Hydrangeaceae. The complete chloroplast genome sequence of H. luteovenosa was characterized from MiSeq (Illumina Co.) pair-end sequencing data. The chloroplast genome of H. luteovenosa was 157,494u2009bp in length with a pair of inverted repeats (IRs) (25,126u2009bp) which were separated by a large single-copy (LSC) (86,596u2009bp) and a small single-copy regions (SSC) (18,646u2009bp). It contained 129 genes including 85 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNA genes, and 8 ribosomal RNA genes. The maximum-likelihood phylogenetic analysis with the previously reported chloroplast genomes showed that H. luteovenosa is most closely related to the tribe Hydrangeeae.
