Ting Wu; Lanlan Rui; Ao Xiong; Shaoyong Guo

How to use self-management techniques to reduce the cost of operation and maintenance for LTE Network has become a main challenge for telecommunication operators. In this paper, the allocation method of physical cell identifier (PCI) in LTE Network is analyzed, and an automation PCI allocation system (ACPIAS) framework is proposed. In addition, we propose a policy-based automation PCI allocation method which can modify the policy according to the PCI utilization and the scale of base station. Through this allocation method, the validity of PCI can be guaranteed and the frequency of conflict detection, repair and re-allocation process is reduced. The method can assign PCI not only for eNodeB cells but also for Home eNodeB (HeNB) cells in LTE Network. Finally, a simulation is proposed to validate the correctness of the allocation method.

Xiaojuan Fang; Lanlan Rui; Shaoyong Guo; Peng Yu

The requirement of QoE is gradually increasing currently. Simultaneously, as the intermedium between the users and network, devices support collecting several QoS parameters which could predict expected QoE for users. However, a large quantity of mobile devices will become the obstacle for the QoS collection due to the costs of collection traffic. To solve it, this paper proposes a framework for collecting QoS based on Device-Agent. And the paper focuses on the Monitored-Set selecting from a large quantity of devices. The Clustering Monitored-Set Selection Model integrates the location of devices, the network topology and the relationship between devices into solving the problem of Monitored-Set selection. At last, the model is verified via simulation and the result analysis is given in this paper.

The Converged Protocol for Management of Heterogeneous Devices

Xing Gao; Lanlan Rui; Shaoyong Guo; Xuesong Qiu

The development of network convergence and multimedia service are driving the management of heterogeneous devices. According to the disadvantages of the existing device management mechanisms, a converged protocol for the management of heterogeneous devices is proposed to facilitate the convergence of service. Following the top-down model, the converged device management protocol (CDMP) is designed with the characteristics of the smallest Meta-Method set, the data synchronization mechanism, and application independence. Different from the existing DM protocols, CDMP can satisfy any management requirements of mobile and fixed devices with strong extensibility of Meta-Method set and common message structure. Then CDMP is validated by illustrating the configuration procedure based on CDMP. Finally, the simulation is implemented to evaluate CDMP performance in terms of message traffic.

Information Modeling and Autonomic Configuration Management of Femto Network

Lanlan Rui; Luo-ming Meng; Xuesong Qiu

Operating and maintenance for femto network is becoming one of the main challenges for telecommunication operators as the femto base station (BS) is indoor, portable, distributed, switching on and off frequently. According to the characteristics of femto network, a management information model (MIM) is proposed to provide information support for management of femto network, including managed objects, management information, measurements and their monitoring granularities. Since the link between femto BS and femto gateway (FB-FBGW) changes dynamically, FB-FBGW model adopts a status attribute to keep instance of the link stable, which would be helpful for operators to aggregate traffic volume over one link conveniently and quickly. Based on the MIM, a femto network autonomic configuration management system (FACMS) with its architecture is given. The MIM is validated by illustrating autonomic configuration procedure of femto BS with FACMS. FACMS could fulfill autonomic configuration of femto BS considering radio environments. Comparing with traditional fixed method, FACMS moves the optimization procedure of radio environments ahead to avoid potential interference, which help to improve transmission efficiency and quality of telecommunication services.

A self-adaptive recovery strategy for service composition in ubiquitous stub environments

Lijun Wang; Lanlan Rui; Xuesong Qiu; Wenjing Li; Kangming Jiang

Service composition has been introduced to exploit heterogeneous resources of distributed nodes for purpose of supplying ubiquitous services in ubiquitous stub environments, especially in MANETs. However, due to the characteristics of infrastructure-less, the limited resources of the nodes and dynamic topology caused by the mobility of nodes, service composition faces great risk of failure. Therefore, service recovery handling failure is crucial to guarantee composite services successful execution. In this paper, we propose a novel recovery selection function which incorporates device effective rate, individual capability and cooperative capability. Then we elaborate an original heuristic thought-based backup recovery algorithm: Dynamic Local Backup Recovery Algorithm (DLBRA). Finally, simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategy ensures high performance, effectively guarantees the sustainability and significantly reduces the response time of the composite service.

Xiaowan Ke; Wenjing Li; Lanlan Rui; Xuesong Qiu; Shaoyong Guo

When wireless communication comes into the era of the 3rd generation, teleservices would become unprecedented rich under the open service access (OSA). Obviously, QoS (quality of service) from customer’s view becomes one of the most important factors deciding the deployment strategies of services. CQT that is a typical measurement tool for end-to-end QoS is increasingly attracting the attention of industry. However, the existing automatic testing control mechanisms (ATCM) can not satisfy the complex testing requests. Therefore, this paper introduces a new kind of Auto-CQT Control and Management Interface Protocol with better flexibility and scalability between control system and testing terminals. ACCMP is designed on the basis of the smallest reusable testing units and a testing synchronization mechanism, so it can satisfy the complex combination test requirements of multiple services easily.

A Novel Recovery Strategy for Service Interruption in Ubiquitous Stub Environment

Danmei Niu; Lanlan Rui; Shaoyong Guo; Xuesong Qiu

In ubiquitous stub environment, several mobile devices can work cooperatively to provide efficient and reliable service. But device movement or failure usually causes service interruption. How to recover the service path quickly and enhance the user experience greatly is an important problem. This paper presents a novel recovery strategy to resolve the problem. First of all, the strategy conducts the local service recovery process. If it fails, the strategy will use the global service recovery process. Several key factors affecting recovery process are adopted in the strategy. Compared with other similar strategies in simulation experiment, the failure rate and service time of this strategy is lower than the others. So this novel strategy has a better performance.

Economics based resource allocation mechanism for Personal Network Federation

Kai Zhu; Shaoyong Guo; Lanlan Rui; Luoming Meng

The resource allocation problem which aims to solve resources sharing and coordination among heterogeneous devices has become a key issue in Personal Network Federation (PNF). In this paper, Economics based Personal Network Federation (EPNF) market is introduced to meet this case by modelling each resource provider and requestor as Resource Seller Agent (RSA) and Resource Buyer Agent (RBA). Later, we design an EPNF model based on multi-object optimization theory. The Pareto based Solution Set (PSS) is then defined with its properties analyzed which can transfer the EPNF model into a resource allocation competition scenario between multi-agents. Afterwards, Interference Hormone (IH) is imported into Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Algorithm for resource allocation. At last, the result shows that EPNF mechanism offers great help in increasing the utility function for each requestor and can avoid allocation deadlock and allocation conflicts effectively.

Lanlan Rui; Shaoyong Guo; Luoming Meng; Ting Wu

The paper focuses on the Pre-Detection for device fault to ensure the reliability of the devices. A User-Behavior based software fault detection method was proposed, which imports User-Behavior analysis to select the high priority service set for Pre-Detection of the device software fault. The method is user oriented and could improve the efficiency of detection. The architecture and flow for the User-Behavior based software fault detection were introduced. In addition, the User-Behavior Analysis model and the User-Behavior Set-Selection model to reflect the dependence degree of the user to each service were given. At last, the method was validated by simulation and proved to be valid by comparing with other Pre-Detection methods.
