O IMPACTO DOS INVESTIMENTOS EM PESQUISA & DESENVOLVIMENTO NO DESEMPENHO DAS EMPRESAS

O presente trabalho analisou os impactos dos esforcos inovativos, medidos pelos investimentos em Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento, sobre o crescimento das vendas, considerando diferentes “graus de proximidade” com a fronteira. Para testar a hipotese, foi construido um modelo de regressao multinivel considerando 1.500 firmas com dados financeiros de 2012. Foi calculada a Produtividade Total dos Fatores de cada firma e construido um indice de proximidade com a fronteira (firma com maior produtividade). Os resultados demonstram que firmas situadas proximo a fronteira empregam os recursos de P&D com maior eficiencia, obtendo estimativas de crescimento superior em relacao as firmas mais afastadas.

Construindo competências tecnológicas na agricultura brasileira: articulando a Política Nacional de Inovação com os investimentos em infraestrutura

This paper analyzed the impacts of the sector fund CT AGROBUSINESS and of infrastructure investments over the growth of agricultural productivity in Brazilian states. The results indicate that the effect of each investment depends on the degree of closeness to the technological frontier. This suggests that a well coordinated policy must distribute investments differently depending on the stage of development of each economy. In states farther removed, the need for infrastructure investments is relatively higher compared to expenses with ST & I. The absence of this understanding can lead to an unbalanced policy with costs for convergence.

Nível tecnológico e emissão de poluentes: uma análise empírica a partir da curva de kuznets ambiental

This investigation revealed the existence of a U-inverted curve, i.e. Environmental Kuznets Curve, relating pollutant emissions and technological level of the countries. The model was based on the estimation of regression methods with panel data, using 102 countries during 1960-2000. An alternative approach replaced GDP per capita, by the total factor productivity. In early stages of development, the adoption of dirtier technologies by backward economies is essential for generating knowledge and the future path of innovation. The impact of environmental regulation for these economies can aggravate the technological gap with its neighbors, the developed nations.
