Facile formylolefination of aldehydes by means of arsonium salt

Yao-Zeng Huang; Li-Lan Shi; Jianhua Yang

Abstract A facile formylolefination of a variety of aldehydes was achieved by using formylmethyltriphenylarsonium bromide with K 2 CO 3 (trace H 2 O) at room temperature to give highly stereoselectively (E) α,β-unsaturated aldehydes in excellent yields.

Tetrahedron | 1993

Reactions of diazocompounds with carbonyl compounds mediated by diorganyl telluride and catalytic amount of CuI compounds: conversion of aldehydes to a☆

Zhang-Lin Zhou; Yao-Zeng Huang; Li-Lan Shi

Abstract A one-pot reaction of diorganyl telluride, diazo-compounds including dimethyl diazomalonate and ethyl diazoacetate, carbonyl compound and catalytic amount of Cu(I)I afforded the olefination products in high yields. The reaction is proposed to be through diorganyltelluronium bis(methoxycarbonyl)methylide and (ethoxycarbonyl)methylide respectively.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1990

A first non-stabilized telluronium ylide — diphenyltelluronium methylide as a novel reagent for synthesis of oxlranes☆

Li-Lan Shi; Zhang-Lin Zhou; Yao-Zeng Huang

Diphenyltelluronium methylide, generated from methyldiphenyltelluronium tetraphenylborate 1 with LiTMP, reacted with carbonyl compounds to afford substituted oxiranes in moderate to good yields.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1986

A facile stereoselective synthesis of leukotriene A4(LTA4) methyl ester

Yanfang Wang; Jincui Li; Yulin Wu; Yao-Zeng Huang; Li-Lan Shi; Jianhua Yang

Abstract A facile synthesis of LTA4 1 methyl ester was achieved according to Scheme 1, in which the key intermediates 6 and 7 were prepared with the new procedures conveniently, stereoselectively and in good yields.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1991

Highly stereoselective one-step synthesis of 5-aryl- and 5-(2-styrenyl)-4,5-trans-epoxy-2(E)-pentenols employing an arsonium salt

Weibo Wang; Li-Lan Shi; Zbi-Qun Li; Yao-Zeng Huang

Abstract 5-Aryl- and 5-(2-styrenyl)-4,5-trans-epoxy-2E-penten-1-ols were conveniently synthesized by a one-step reaction of aldehydes with arsonium salt 2b under mild conditions (rt, KF.Al 2 O 3 , phase transfer).

Tetrahedron Letters | 1988

A novel synthesis of 2,3-epoxy-3-arylpropanol via arsonium salt☆

Li-Lan Shi; Weibo Wang; Yao-Zeng Huang

Abstract In the presence of KOH(s), β-hydroxyethyltriphenylarsonium bromide 2 reacted directly with aromatic aldehydes at r.t. to give 2,3-epoxy-3-arylpropanol 3 in good yields under solid-liquid phase transfer condition.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1988

A general and highly stereoselective approach to unsaturatedisobylamides via arsonium salt. New synthesis of pellitorine

Li-Lan Shi; Jianhua Yang; Xueqing Wen; Yao-Zeng Huang

Abstract The highly stereoselective synthesis of conjugated unsaturated isobutylamides in good yields via the arsonium salt is described, and the new synthesis of pellitorine is also reported.

Synthetic Communications | 1991

A Novel Olefination of Carbonyl Compounds with Dibromomalonate Promoted by Dibutyl Telluride

Zhang-Lin Zhou; Li-Lan Shi; Yao-Zeng Huang

Abstract α,β-Unstaturated malonic esters are conveniently synthesized from the reaction of dibromomalonate with carbonyl compounds promoted by dibutyl telluride in exellent yields. A possible mechanism involving twice halophilic attacks of dibutyl telluride is proposed. This methodology provides a facile route to α,β-unsaturated malonic esters and represents an alternative to the Knoevenagel reaction.

A facile synthesis of α,β-unsaturated epoxides via allyldi-isobutyltelluronium bromide

Zhang-Lin Zhou; You-Shou Sun; Li-Lan Shi; Yao-Zeng Huang

In the presence of solid KOH, allyldi-isobutyltelluronium bromide 2 reacts directly with aromatic aldehydes at room temperature under solid–liquid phase-transfer conditions to afford α,β-unsaturated epoxides 3 in excellent yields.

Barbier-type allylation of aldehydes mediated by antimony(III) chloride–metallic iron or antimony(III) chloride–metallic aluminium

Weibo Wang; Li-Lan Shi; Ruo-Hui Xu; Yao-Zeng Huang

Active zero-valent antimony generated from antimony(III) chloride–metallic iron or antimony(III) chloride–metallic aluminium, induced allylation of aldehydes with allylic halides at room temperature to give high yields of the corresponding homoallylic alcohols with high regio- and chemo- selectivity.
