The daily practice of Community Health Agents (CHAs) is permeated with educational interventions aimed at preventive care and health promotion. The sociocultural universe of these professionals can affect the dynamics of their practice within the community, particularly in rural areas, where there is evidence that the population expects to obtain information relative to their health and/or disease by means of cultural rites. Based on a case study, we sought to analyze the influence of the cultural practices of the agents working in a rural area in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais. The analysis revealed the presence of a strong connection between the culture and their activities. Religious beliefs and knowledge developed from the fusion of biomedical information and values based on family tradition regarding the health-disease process have a direct effect on their practices. It is emphasized that they have an important role as facilitators in the practice of health care, with a positive effect stemming from the similarity of their life experiences and inherited cultures with those of the clients, thus making it possible to develop effective interventions.O cotidiano dos Agentes Comunitarios de Saude (ACS) e permeado de acoes educativas direcionadas para os cuidados preventivos e promocao da saude. ATLAS.ti is a program used to organize and manage qualitative research data. The present study aims at describing the application of ATLAS.ti in two instances, highlighting its potentialities and limitations for data analysis. This is a user experience of ATLAS.ti (Archivfuer Technik Lebensweltund Alltagssprache) for the analysis of qualitative data of a dissertation and a thesis in nursing. The software proved to be an efficient tool to organize, capture and analyse data; it provided the researchers with an overview of the findings during the analytical process and helped in the optimization of time. Its limitations relate to difficulties concerning characteristics of the data analysis method, the need for training and purchasing of the program. The authors concluded that ATLAS.it an important tool for data analysis in qualitative research.

The aim of this study was to understand how collaborative practice takes place in the hospital context from nurses’ perspective. This is a case study with a qualitative approach carried out in a Private Hospital in Minas Gerais. Thirteen nurses who worked in the Surgical Unit and Intensive Care Unit participated in the study. Data collection was done through individual interviews with a semi-structured script from November to December 2016. Data were submitted to Thematic Content Analysis with the support of ATLAS.ti software. The results showed that collaborative practice in the hospital environment is complex and requires relational processes, which are recognized by nurses in an ambiguous way, oscillating between potentialities and barriers to the work. In addition, strategies were identified that help them in the search for the development of collaborative practice based on communication, sharing of objectives, organizational identification and institutional support. It is concluded that the configuration of collaborative practice strengthens the integration between nurses and the interprofissional team, contributing to the confrontation of difficulties inherent to the hospital routine. However, the non-achievement of collaborative practice can trigger experiences of suffering for the team and for nurses.

The present study aimed at analysing the nursing challenges and career opportunities in the (FHS) in a Health District of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. It is a qualitative study; data was collected through individual semi-structured interviews, observation and field diary. The study subjects were ESF nurses from seven health centres. The results demonstrated that the nurse’s daily routine is characterized by work overload that impairs carrying out ESF specific actions. The challenges are the improvement of working conditions related to organization and care process; possibilities mean more autonomy so this professional can implement care practices more in tune with social policies. The present study aimed at analysing the nursing challenges and career opportunities in the (FHS) in a Health District of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.
