COMPETITIVIDADE DAS EXPORTAÇÕES MUNDIAIS DE PLANTAS VIVAS E PRODUTOS DE FLORICULTURA

Este artigo teve como objetivo analisar a competitividade das exportacoes de plantas vivas e flores no mercado internacional no periodo 1998-2004, atraves de um conjunto de indicadores de desempenho das exportacoes. Os resultados mostram competitividade das exportacoes do segmento no mercado internacional. Porem, grandes exportadores nem sempre sao fortemente competitivos. Caso da Italia, Belgica, Estados Unidos, Alemanha e Espanha. Os exportadores mais competitivos foram Equador, Holanda, Colombia e Dinamarca, sendo que estes tres ultimos apresentaram perdas de competitividade e Equador os maiores ganhos. O Brasil, apesar de nao configurar entre os maiores exportadores mostrou-se fortemente competitivo com taxas crescentes de competitividade.

Eficácia e evolução dos indicadores socioeconômicos de famílias beneficiadas pelo programa de combate à pobreza rural: Projeto São José no Estado do Ceará

The objective of this study was to verify the evolution of economic indicators of the families, living in 27 communities, benefited by Rural Poverty Reduction Program in the state of Ceara. For this purpose, the years of 1998 (base year) and 2001 were selected. The information was obtained from the beneficiaries of projects such as water supply, rural electrification, agriculture mechanization and land reform. The results allowed to conclude that there was an improvement in living conditions, acquisition of durable goods and income level of population benefited by the Program. Also, comparison between per capita income of these families and rural population of the state was made.

Capital social das comunidades beneficiadas pelo programa de combate à pobreza rural - PCPR/Projeto São José - PSJ - estado do Ceará

The objective of this study was to identify and analyze tangible and intangible social capital of benefited communities by the resources of rural Poverty Reduction Program in the state of Ceara. The data were obtained by interviewing individuals and leaders of communities benefited by projects such as water supply, land reform, rural electrification and agricultural mechanization. For each type of project, social capital index was constructed. The results indicated that communities have medium level of social capital accumulation and resources supplied by this program contributed to increase social capital in these communities.
