Alimentação escolar nas comunidades quilombolas: desafios e potencialidades

O Programa Nacional de Alimentacao Escolar (PNAE) e uma estrategia de Seguranca Alimentar e Nutricional (SAN) para estudantes de escolas publicas. Este artigo tem por objetivos discutir os desafios e as potencialidades da alimentacao escolar nas comunidades quilombolas e relatar a experiencia do Centro Colaborador em Alimentacao e Nutricao do Escolar da Universidade Federal de Goias e Regiao Centro-Oeste (CECANE UFG/Centro-Oeste). Relato de experiencia associado a sistematizacao da literatura sobre o PNAE, SAN e outras politicas. O acesso permanente e adequado as politicas sociais e um desafio para as comunidades quilombolas. Identificam-se na execucao do PNAE entraves de ordem economica, estrutural e social. Neste contexto, a Lei 11.947/2009 incentiva o desenvolvimento local, por meio da aquisicao de alimentos da regiao e determina valor per capita diferenciado, traduzido em cardapio com alimentos da cultura negra e que atenda no minimo 30% das necessidades nutricionais diarias. O CECANE UFG/Centro-Oeste no projeto alimentacao, saude e qualidade de vida de escolares quilombolas realiza acoes em SAN. O campo da alimentacao escolar mostra-se sensivel as necessidades locais e apoia o desenvolvimento e a promocao da qualidade de vida.

Produção e potencial agrícolas de alimentos destinados à alimentação escolar em Goiás e no Distrito Federal, na Região Centro-Oeste do Brasil

OBJECTIVE: This study investigated the production and production potential of vegetables, fruits and native Cerrado fruits in Goias and Distrito Federal, for their inclusion in the school menu as determined by the Law 11.947/2009. METHODS: A descriptive, quantitative study was done in 2009 in five mesoregions of Goias and in Distrito Federal. The agricultural production was determined using data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics and production estimates from 2003-2007. The estimated agricultural potential was based on the mean annual temperature of each mesoregion and optimal temperature ranges for each culture. The selected foods were classified according to production scale (small, average or high) and agricultural potential (excellent, average or low). RESULTS: The production of fruits and vegetables occurred mainly in the central, southern and eastern regions of the state, while the northeast and northern regions were less exploited. The most common cultures were lime, lettuce, mango, banana and cashew. The production potential of the Distrito Federal was less exploited than that of three mesoregions of Goias (without correcting the index for the actual cultivated area). Also, there is a scarcity of official data on Cerrado fruits. CONCLUSION: This study showed the differences in regional production of viable foods for the school menu and highlighted the productive potential of the region, taking sustainable development into account.

As ações de educação alimentar e nutricional e o nutricionista no âmbito do Programa Nacional de Alimentação Escolar

The National School Food Program (NSFP) recommends the promotion of healthy eating habits by offering meals along with food and nutrition education (FNE) actions. The objective of this study was to identify the FNE in the NSFP and its relationship with the nutritionists profile. It involved an analytical, cross-sectional study conducted in cities in the state of of Goiás, Brazil. Data was collected by telephone, and the association between the outcome variable (achievement of FNE actions) and exposure (school population and nutritionist performance) was done by Pearsons chi-square test of with a 5% significance level. In this study, 214 (87%) municipalities were included, among which, 91.1% promote FNE actions with predominantly biannual frequency (25.3% in schools and 23.2% in day care centers). The nutritionist presence was associated to the FNE (p = 0.001). FNE actions are performed in most municipalities, however with low frequency. The association indicates the relevance of a nutritionist present in conditions that heed the legislation, enabling the performance of their duties, as defined by the Legal Framework of the NSFP and the Federal Council of Nutritionists.

Feeding in full-time public schools: Do students adhere and accept?

Cross-sectional study with students of both sexes aged 6-14 years. Issues regarding the consumption of meals, food distribution, food eaten outside the school and socioeconomic data, including nutritional assessment of students, were investigated. Adherence to meals was defined as the consumption of school meals four to five times/week, and acceptance was defined as meal approval, using the facial hedonic scale.

Projeto Pedagógico, Abordagem Pedagógica e Cenários de Prática: Avaliação de tendências de mudanças em cursos da área da saúde

O objetivo do estudo foi conhecer as tendencias de mudancas em cursos de graduacao da area da saude da Universidade Federal de Goias, tendo como base os aspectos preconizados pelas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais. Trata-se de estudo descritivo, realizado entre 2013 e 2014, no qual se utilizou a metodologia proposta pela Comissao de Avaliacao das Escolas da Area da Saude, da Associacao Brasileira de Educacao Medica. A coleta de dados foi realizada em reuniao com docentes, discentes e servidores tecnico-administrativos dos cursos de Enfermagem, Farmacia, Medicina e Nutricao, que aceitaram participar da investigacao respondendo ao instrumento de autoavaliacao com os seguintes eixos: Projeto Pedagogico, Abordagem Pedagogica e Cenarios de Pratica. Os resultados mostraram que dois cursos apresentam tipologia inovadora com tendencia tradicional e outros dois cursos, tipologia inovadora com tendencia avancada. Apesar de se observar o movimento de mudanca do processo formativo, no eixo abordagem pedagogica, mostram dificuldades em implementar as inovacoes previstas no projeto pedagogico como as metodologias inovadoras e o desenvolvimento de apoio e tutoria nas atividades realizadas. Nos cenarios de pratica, todos os cursos mostraram-se avancados, pois utilizam unidades do sistema de saude direcionadas a atencao primaria, secundaria e terciaria, com supervisao de docentes e preceptores. Observou-se ainda que todos os cursos estao em processo de mudanca dos projetos pedagogicos, das abordagens pedagogicas e dos cenarios de pratica, conforme determinado pelas Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais.

Práticas alimentares e fatores associados à introdução precoce da alimentação complementar entre crianças menores de seis meses na região noroeste de Goiânia

OBJECTIVE: to analyze feeding practices and factors associated with early introduction of complementary feeding of children aged under six months born in a maternity hospital in the northwest region of Goiânia, Goias, Brazil. METHODS: cross-sectional study conducted between August/2005 and February/2007; early introduction of complementary feeding was investigated (outcome of interest) and possible associated factors (sociodemographic, maternal, pregnancy, child-related and food consumption variables); the prevalence ratio was determined using a Poisson regression model with robust adjustment of variance. RESULTS: 362 children aged under six months were assessed and it was found that 95.3% of children received water (77.5%), fruit (62.7%), juices (57.2%), and savoury food (55.1%) early; after adjusted analysis outcome prevalence was higher among children of mothers who smoked (PR=1.02; CI95%: 1.01;1.04) and lower in primiparous mothers (PR=0.97; CI95%: 0.95;0.99). CONCLUSION: prevalence of early introduction of complementary feeding was high and associated with environmental and gestational factors.
