Decay properties of 97m,gTc

Abstract The half-life of 97 g Tc was re-measured using the parental relations between 97 Ru and 97 mg Tc, and the isotope dilution method for determining the number of atoms, and γ and X-ray spectrometry for determining the absolute disintegration rate. The proposed half-life is (4.21 ± 0.16) × 10 6 yr. The half life of 97 m Tc and the EC-decay branching ratio of 97 m Tc to 97 Mo were determined to be (91.4 ± 0.8) d and (3.94 ± 0.18) %, respectively. The EC decay branching ratio of 97 Ru to 97 m Tc was also re-determined to be (1.71 ± 0.02) × 10 −4 .
