Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds | 1999

Geometry and mesomorphic properties of new schiff bases containing thiazole ring

M. M. Murza; Z. Kh. Kuvatov; M. G. Safarov

New liquid-crystalline azomethines — 2-(4-alkoxybenzylideneamino)-4-(3-nitrophenylamino)thiazoles —displaying nematic mesomorphism at 42–137°C have been synthesized. The structure of these compounds was studied by the MNDO LCAO MO method. A correlation was found between the geometric parameters and liquid crystal properties.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds | 1997

Novel mesomorphic Schiff bases

A. S. Golovanov; M. M. Murza; M. G. Safarov

Abstract2-(4-Alkoxybenzylideneamino)-4-[(4-nitrophenyl)amino]thiazoles have been synthesized. They show nematic type enantiotropic mesomorphism in the range 41–184°C.

ChemInform | 2001

Synthesis and Quantum-chemical Study of Liquid-crystal Derivatives of Thiazole

M. M. Murza; T. R. Prosochina; M. G. Safarov; E. A. Kantor

New liquid-crystall derivatives of thiazole with smectic mesomorphism over the range 5-85°C have been synthesized. Data on the spatial structure of the compounds synthesized have been obtained by quantum-chemical calculations. The effect of geometric anisotropy of the molecules of substituted thiazoles on their mesomorphic properties has been investigated.

Reaction Kinetics and Catalysis Letters | 1997

Kinetics of heptene-I interaction with formaldehyde in trifluoroacetic acid

R. F. Talipov; I. M. Safarov; G. R. Talipova; M. G. Safarov

A mechanism for formation of hydrogenated furans in the reaction of α-olefins with formaldehyde is suggested. Based on kinetic data, it involves the equilibrium addition of protonated formaldehyde to the olefin.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds | 1996

New liquid crystal derivatives of thiazole

M. M. Murza; A. S. Golovanov; M. G. Safarov

Abstract2-(4′-Alkoxybenzylidenamino)-4-(4-nitrophenoxy)thiazoles, which possess monotropic mesomorphism of the nematic type over the range 68–160°C, have been synthesized.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds | 1989

Reaction of 4-methyl-3,4-epoxytetrahydropyran with ?-amino acids

U. G. Ibatullin; S. A. Vasil'eva; Z. Kh. Karimova; I. Z. Latypova; M. G. Safarov

Depending on the conditions, α-amino acids react with 4-methyl-3,4-epoxytetrahydropyran at the amin or carboxy group to give products of opening of the oxirane ring in conformity with the Krasusskii rule.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds | 2004

New Derivatives of Thiazole with Mesomorphous Properties

Z. Kh. Kuvatov; M. G. Safarov; M. M. Murza

Azomethines containing a thiazole ring have been synthesized and their liquid crystal properties have been investigated. The influence of the central group and substituents in the azomethine component on the type and temperature range of the mesomorphous properties of the compounds synthesized has been elucidated.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds | 1995

Synthesis of β-substituted tetrahydrofurans by the prins reaction

R. F. Talipov; R. R. Muslukhov; I. M. Safarov; F. A. Yamantaev; M. G. Safarov

Mixtures of 3-trif uoroacetoxy- and 3-chloro-4-alkyltetraliydrofurans were synthesized by the reaction of a series ofα-olefins with formaldehyde in trifuoroacetic acid and trimethylchlorosilane.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds | 1995

Synthesis of N-substituted 4-aminomethyl-1,3-dioxanes

R. F. Talipov; Kh. F. Sagitdinova; A. M. Gaisin; A. M. Davletbakova; M. G. Safarov

Abstract4-(R-Amino)methyl-1,3-dioxanes were synthesized from 4-chloromethyl-1,3-dioxanes. Some of these products were converted into water-soluble pyridinium chlorides by consecutive treatment with chloroacetyl chloride and pyridine.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds | 1992

Reactions of epoxides of the pyran series involving ring expansion. Reaction of 4-methyl-3,4-epoxytetrahydropyran with potassium thiocyanate

S. A. Vasil'eva; Yu. A. Kashina; M. V. Kulikova; M. N. Zemtsova; M. G. Safarov

The reaction of 4-methyl-3,4-epoxytetrahydropyran with potassium thiocyanate occurs with expansion of the oxirane ring and leads to 6-methyl-8-amino-3,7-dioxa-9-thiabicyclo[4,3,0]nonane, the formation of which has been proven by the fact that products of its acylation by acid chlorides of 2-R-cinchonic acids are obtained, and also by the formation of Mannich bases when it is treated with formaldehyde and secondary amines.
