This study investigated the behaviour of N1 peak towards perceived sound levels in different range of frequencies. Three sound levels as perceived as Talk, Loud and Shout were examined. In 10 subjects, the results showed that in all frequency ranges (4000 Hz, 1000 Hz and 500 Hz) the peak of N1 waves have significantly reduced when stimulated by Talk level as compared to Loud and Shout. Insignificant reduction of N1 amplitude was increased as the stimulation intensity changed from Loud to Shout stimulation. In particular, the Shout stimulated responses showed a constants N1 wave throughout stimulation in most of the subjects. The results showed that the focus strength could be measured by analyzing the degree of reduction of N1 wave. Therefore, the proposed method could be used as a framework towards clinical trial to measure the practicability of the memory booster pill or drugs on enhancing ones focus strength or it just a placebo effect. In addition, we have seen that our focus could be manipulated by level of vibrant intensities. The finding could be used for developing a tool for driving awareness system.

This study investigated the effect of continuous tones vibrant on focus ability among teenagers. Three vibrant levels as perceived as Medium, Loud but Comfortable and Very Loud were examined. In 6 subjects, the results showed that the amplitude of N1 waves have reduced significantly when stimulated by Medium sound as compared to Loud but Comfortable and Very Loud stimulation. Insignificant reduction of N1 amplitude was increased as the tones vibrant changed from Loud but Comfortable to Very Loud stimulation. In particular, the Very Loud stimulation evoked constant amplitude of N1 throughout stimulation in most of the subjects. This shows that a high vibrant of tones project high focus ability. The finding could be used for a basis of developing an awareness system or a diagnostic for mental disorder such as schizophrenia.

This paper presents the analysis of bending optical waveguide based on effective refractive index and beta propagation constant. The various sample of core waveguide size such as 3 ×3, 7×7 and 9×9 is taken and measure with radius curvature of optical waveguide. The data collection based on Maxwell equation derivation and modeling electromagnetic field as a engine behind of graphical user interface (GUI) simulation. The material that used is GaAs for core refractive index, while material GaAlAs for upper and lower refractive index. The structure for this Bending Waveguide is set at 1.55 μm and result of optimization analysis of waveguide according to a certain parameter may help in Telecommunication application design and modeling such as optical fiber, wave propagation, and electromagnetic field radiation for angular field.

This paper presents a system for hearbeat detection using microwave Doppler technique. Using a vector network analyzer, a microwave system is tested for the detection of the heartbeat signal at a distance of 1 feet from a person. The proposed system shows the ability of detecting the heartbeat signals with the possibility of tuning the radiated power. Measurements are performed at 10dbm, 0dbm, -10dbm, -15dbm and -25dbm. Based on measurements perform for respiration and heart beatings, a signal representing the cardiopulmonary activity is presented. The heartbeat rate and heart rate are extracted from the signal using wavelet and classic filters.

Oil, gas and coal currently constitute 94% of the total energy generation mix but the increasing demand of electricity, there is a need to be greater diversification of power supply sources in order to tackle the forthcoming electricity crisis. Several studies have started to investigate the feasibility of salt as sources to generate electric. However, the study on the characteristic of salt as electric source has not well documented. Hence, this study investigated the correlation between salinity and electric voltage. Two types of salts were analyzed, i.e., coarse salt and white salt. Based on the results, the generated voltage was linearly increased with the salinity in both types of salt. The finding could be becoming something useful such as a reference to develop a saltwater electric supply or other or to develop a measurement equipment to measure salinity in a liquid.

A Smart Detector Database using Radio Frequency Identification (SDDR) is a cyclist tracking device. This device can be applied in the biggest race competition. Today, the monitoring system used unable to trace not arrive cyclist. As a solution, SDDR will detect cyclist that through the checkpoints and the profile about that cyclist would be displayed at the organizers PC monitor at the last point. The profile of each cyclist can be identified by using the information from database. The information from the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Database Handling System will be used by the organizer such as name, address, date and time of arriving at the each checkpoint. The main purpose of this device is to reduce the use of manpower at the each checkpoint. The aim of this project is to implement the RFID tags and readers as a detector. This project will use the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) RFID Reader that will be directly connected to the PC organizer without using the interface circuit. This system has been developed by using Microsoft Visual Basic (VB) that offered graphical user interface (GUI) for display the result. The database as well support for this system is Microsoft Access (MA).

Texture feature is an important feature analysis method in computer-aided diagnosis systems for disease diagnosis. However, texture feature itself could not provide an overall description of the diseases. In this paper, we propose Continuous Local Feature (CLH) to diagnose the Bronchiolitis Obliterans (BO) lung diseases in the chest computer tomography images. CLH is based on the continuous combination of histograms of local texture feature, local shape feature, and the brightness feature. Because CLH extracts more information, it has high discriminating power and is able to classify between the BO lung disease and normal lung region effectively. The experimental results in classifying between BO and normal lung region show that CLH achieves 98.15% of average sensitivity whereas Local Binary Patterns and Gray Level Run Length Matrix achieve 73% and 75.8% of average sensitivities, respectively. In the receiver operating curve analysis, CLH archives 0.9 of area under curve (AUC) whereas LBP and GLRLM achieve 0.78 and 0.86 of AUCs.
