In this paper, we present a mathematical impedance modeling for a unit cell of the circle loop Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) structure. The unit cell of the circle loop FSS is designed and simulated based on industrial, scientific and medical bands (ISM) standard by using the CST Microwave Studio software. The configuration of FSS is simulated for two types; single layer and dual layer FSS. Based on physical parameters of the design structure of the FSS, real and imaginary component of the design has been modeled mathematically.

Avalanche Photodiode based on InGaAs/InP was chosen because of the needs of high speed optical receivers and have their own advantages on high sensitivity. In this project, we focused on the effect of guard ring on InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiodes and its performance. Three types of guard ring structures are designed in APD and their current-voltage (I-V) characteristics (electric field profiles) are simulated and analyzed. In this paper, the characteristics of guard ring in InGaAs/InP are investigated using Silvaco software, TCAD tools. This paper investigates the effects of guard-ring (GR) structures on the performance of InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiode (APDs) designed in Silvaco TCAD. Three type InGaAs/InP-APDs based on P+/N-well guard ring, n+/p-substrate guard ring and no presence guard ring are designed and their electric field profiles are simulated. In others to know the best structures of InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiode structures, the current-voltage characteristics (I-V characteristics) are mea...

In this paper, presented a single double-sided circular disc bow-tie antenna for Ultra Wide Band (UWB) communication is being proposed. The antenna covers the UWB spectrum from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz, and had a return loss below than 10 dB throughout the entire band. The antenna feed lines were analyze in order to maximize the performance of UWB antenna. A compact antenna area of 30.0 × 60.0 mm2 is obtained. The material used is FR-4 epoxy glass substrate that has dielectric constant, εr = 4.4 and the dielectric thickness; h =1.6mm. The antenna also gives omni directional radiation characteristics with reasonable gain values over the same frequency band.

Methodology of performing narrow phase collision detection for virtual environment

Contact determination between near colliding objects is one of crucial issues in virtual environment simulation for nearly accurate collision detection system such as in medical simulation, computer games, and engineering visualization. The contact determination technique consists of distance computation, point of contact and depth penetration phase. It requires information of object direction toward another object that move towards another object that is in opposite direction; resulting in an intersection. The main problem is caused by complex calculations involved in distance approximation resulting speed and efficiency in collision reporting deterioration. The proposed technique starts by first identifying the nearest triangle of corresponding objects that is going to be intersected with another triangle that are bound with an Axis Aligned Bounding-Box (AABB) for whole object. Then, we need to find the parallel line distribution created by each axis of AABB for each triangle. Three sets of testing have been conducted to evaluate and verify the proposed technique with two other common techniques of Lin-Canny and GJK technique. This paper presented our methodology of our solution for computing a single phase collision detection instead of expensive two-phase collision detection algorithm.

In this technical paper contains the information of the Radio Frequency (RF) exposure along 10 MHz to 3 GHz frequency on pharmaceutical medicine where in this testing Paracetamol were tested. The samples were prepared at five different mol (10, 20, 30, 40 & 50 ml) and three different distances (5, 10, 15 cm) between horn antenna and the samples. The reactions from the medicine due to RF radiation are measured at S11 by fixed distance versus varied mol and fixed mol versus varied distance. The quasi-static technique and the RF exposure results, with respective specification was included and discussed.

Noor Azamiah Md Fauzi; Mohamad Zoinol Abidin Abd Aziz; Maizatul Alice Meor Said; Mohd Azlishah Othman; Badrul Hisham Ahmad; Mohd Fareq Abd Malek

This paper presents a new design of dual band frequency selective surface (FSS) for band pass microwave transmission application. FSS can be used on energy saving glass to improve the transmission of wireless communication signals through the glass. The microwave signal will be attenuate when propagate throughout the different structure such as building. Therefore, some of the wireless communication system cannot be used in the optimum performance. The aim of this paper is designed, simulated and analyzed the new dual band FSS structure for microwave transmission. This design is based on a quadruple L slot combined with cross slot to produce pass band at 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz. The vertical of pair inverse L slot is used as the band pass for the frequency of 2.4GHz. While, the horizontal of pair inverse L slot is used as the band pass at frequency 900MHz. This design is simulated and analyzed by using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio (MWS) software. The characteristics of the transmissio...
